What does your vet charge you

Having a tet jab tomorrow and will pay just the cost of the jab - about £30 I think. Don't get charged a call out :)

Nope, totally serious. Our vets don't charge call out for routine things like vaccs if you have them on certain days. How much have you been charged?

My vet doesn't charge call out if you give them 5 working days notice; tetanus jab was about £17, flu & tetanus was about £30.

£40 call out and jab inc. Vat is about £30 something. They do a half price day on Friday afternoons so call out works out at £20. Think my last bill was £52ish.

60 euro to come and flu/tet 3, not any special day. Also charged me 108 for 12 tet toxoid to administer myself so not doing too bad.

call out about £50 then about £30 for jab. Dreading my latest bill arriving. Call out, 2 flu jabs, 2 teeth and 1 sedate. Im thinking about £250.

Try 4 x-rays and all the bute and callouts that go with it... 522 quid later...

we get the other vet in to do the vaccs. Old school farm vet and he's good. Slaps his hand on the horse's neck 4 times and on the 4th the needle is in it. Even the needle hater in the stable next door never noticed. Hits it first time every time. 35 quid each.

I think we're £45 for call out plus the cost of the jab.

Dreading my next bill though - 2 1/2 hours last Thursday for nerve blocks etc (had 2 vets there). Then into the clinic yesterday. Was there for 4 hours, had 3 vets examining / assisting for more nerve blocks.

Had to sedate him to get the nerve blocks done and then wake him up so I could ride him. He had obviousl had enough on Thursday.

Then had 4 vets and me trying to hold him so they could scan his back.

Then an injection into the sacroiliac joint.

Let's hope the bill doesn't arrive for a while!

My last one in Dec was £64 incld the callout, the callout fee depends on how far you are from the yard but unf I get charged the most expensive which I think is £36. Unfo they don't do free callout days :(
