As title really. My pony goes beautifully in her Tom Thumb bit (on the snaffle ring). She is light in my hand and really happy. I have tried a variety of snaffles and not found anything she gets on with. She head tosses if I move my fingers at all in some of them and pulls like a tank in others. Best option so far has been one of those flexible rubber Mullen mouth ones. Have also tried a French link hanging cheek, French link sweet iron loose ring, French link stainless steel Eggbutt, Happy Mouth Mullen. Single jointed snaffles are a serious no! She has a small mouth and I have started to wonder if she likes the Tom Thumb because it is so thin? The roof of her mouth is also quite low, so nothing ported.

If anyone has any good ideas, I would be very grateful! She is schooling beautifully but we can't enter a dressage test!!!

How about trying a magic bit if she's been happiest in the mullen mouth? Thin tidy little bits and the ports are tiny. (Would need to check BD rules, I'm not sure if they're allowed?)

I'd try a mullen mouth hanging cheek. I have a myler one (it was the only one I could find in 6") which is expensive but has a really pronounced curve and a thin mouthpiece and I'm sure that's half the reason my boy (who has a huge tongue) is comfortable in it.

My horse who jumped and hunted in a tom thumb loved his myler comfort snaffle, and I've found they offer more precise aids than other snaffles.
