I'll try to keep this brief. 
Basically, in May this year my horse came out from his stable with a filled left front leg. After about 15/20 minutes of an 'off' shuffle around the field after TO he'd be right as rain again, but it did the same over night, every night.
Vet examination and flexion showed him to be about 3/10's lame on both his left and right fores - so he was packed off to the clinic for a lameness work up.
It was a gruelling horrible day and took us 9 hours - but we eventually came back with the diagnosis of bilateral high ringbone. I've a few photos of x-rays in the photos section of vets for conditions etc, but for some reason can't get onto photobucket to re-paste, sorry!
He was then back down the vets for a course of tildren and then 6 weeks of cartrophen injections - then gentle walk work for 10/15 minutes building up. He also has NB shoes and his toes taken right back. He stayed sound for 2 weeks, and then went lame again. He then (begrudgingly) went BACK to the vets for another course of tildren and had his joints medicated with cortisone. They removed 15ml of joint fluid - when usually they take about 2ml. He was then on box rest for 2 days, in a pen for 2 weeks, field rested for another 2 weeks. He then could do 2 weeks of 10 minute walks and had just done 3 days of his prescribed 15 minute walks before going lame again. He was re-shod (at 5 weeks) but this has failed to restore any soundness.
Just at a loss as to what to do now - he has approx 4 months left on the insurance but limited funds - so, do I see if the vets will re-treat him now, or turn him away and see if nature'll do her job. He's now barefoot behind with the fronts coming off ideally whenever we have some rain!
Any thoughts would be great - am hoping i'll have plucked the courage up to speak to my vet tomorrow!
