Crikes feel like a 1st time horse owner again lol.... I know it's been 2 years but what am I missing?... feel like I am seeing as I have to collect it all again, I had 2 of everything for merls, so this is weird.

He's coming with all his tack, rugs and lunge equip will be coming over seperately as transporter can only take a few items I can collect the rest when I meet his owner.

I so far have the following:

Headcoller leadrope set
2 haynets
2 feed buckets
I large water bucket
1 small water bucket - for refiling the bigger one
feed scoop
grooming kit basics anyway
salt lick for his stable

I've yet to pick up:

Wheelbarrow
shavings fork
broom
poop scoop thing
feed bins
feed

yard already has hay and bedding ready so that's ok.
my brain is not thinking straight today hence the right numptie questions lol....
Wish I had kept everything now, but then again I think it would been too painful to see it all still so fresh beginnings.

Hoping to hear tomorrow from the transporter as to when he will be bringing him over, I've already mentioned to YO that he might turn up late at night/early am.... she understands obviously.

Seems like you have got everything, until he comes!!!! And if you are like me will find a million other things that he ' needs' lol

Have you got loads of love and a bucket full of patience? Very important not to forget those :) xxxx

Good luck

Yeah I think I have, but thought it always best to check... I have buckets and buckets full of cuddles, love and patience for him this has been a long time coming .

he 'will' need loads more yet true but I have to reign myself in until he gets here.. lol :)

i prefer to have a few more haynets so i can fill them all at the weekend and not have to worry about filling them in the week when i don't have as much time cuz i'd rather ride than fill haynets :D apart from that, sounds like you have everything for now :) you will obviously 'need' more stuff later on :D

yeah I used to do this, it does save time for sure... well maybe another couple won't hurt lol.. I'd like to perhaps in future get a haybar

OMG I am starting to get so excited for you :D PM me some details hehe
Erm will have a think about your shopping list xx

LOL :D :D :D
I am soooo excited it's getting closer and closer to me having another horse that I honestly thought I wouldn't get.
He found me.... not me finding him :)

that's always how it works isn't it lol

i'll pm you

I'm in the same position! My new boy arrives on Weds and I've been frantically trying to remember everything I had (and sold!) from my previous horses...

The only additions I would suggest are a weigh tape and spring balance/scales for feed and hay nets.

Obvious things you'll need to ensure you have done will be to register your new one with your chosen vet and farrier too - might be worth having a saddler check out the saddle if one is coming with your new horse too...

One of the 'benefits' of mine not coming with tack is that I don't have to try to exchange the old saddle for one that fits properly!

I'm really, really excited for you! (And me too!!!)

Congrats on finding yourself a new horse and I really do hope everything goes well for you. I have been a lurker / occasional poster on here for a year or so and have seen your posts on looking for another. Camera at the ready, I'm sure plenty of us are looking forward to the pics :D

ooooo it's soo exciting isn't it. :)

Weigh tape ahh yes, had to keep an eye on fat boy's weight being a lami, damn it really wish I had kept it all now its the smaller finer things you seem to forget about until you need it.

He's coming with a professionally fitted saddle and 2 bridles and all the rest of his belongings so have to wait to see what else I may need.

What are you getting?... details or do you want to keep schh til he arrives?.

Good luck I am looking & very fed up & had forgotten the shopping expedition I had when I got my first horse..very exciting...has anyone mentioned wormer???

But let us know how it goes as I drive myself mad and am very hopeful when I find someone has found their horse! There is hope then! Very good luck..

Thank you Ponyfeet that was very kind of you to say that.. (making me blush) lol

I will be certainly taking plenty of pics of him.
I have waited so long for this moment and more than ready for another now.

oooh almost forgot plenty of shampoo - he's a grey and also likes laying in his poo.... GREAT lol :) :) :)
