What exactly is Showcross?

I've heard so many different explanations of it, but i thought it was a showjumping round followed by a cross country round. Am i right? If not, what is it? :)x

Yes that's what it is! You SJ 1st then xc,either straight after or with a break in between. If its an arena showcross you have all the jumps in one ring & do it all together.

They are placed on faults over both courses & ties dependant on either sj time or nearest to optimum time over sj (the ones we've done are anyway! ) xx

jump cross are knock down type fences run outside like an xc course.

not heard of showcross, that sounds like an eventer trial or a jumping derby to me... So many names for such similar things! :D
 
I've never heard of jump cross! That's what a showcross is around here (s.yorks) - well that's what they called what my daughter has just won today anyway :D :D xx
