I'm having a potential sharer come to view my boy on Saturday. She sounds completely perfect really, so I think it will just be a case of seeing if she likes him and seeing that she can ride him effectively.

With that in mind, I'd like to take the contracts down to the yard so that if she likes him we can just sign there and then and be done with it.

I've taken the BHS one and tailored it slightly. What have you all added to your share contracts? Is there anything you can think of that I should add?

When I loaned Splish it said in the contract that he could pull away when being led, and must always be led in a bridle/chiffney, I learned why the hard way, when I forgot to take the chiffney with me one day!
Also it said that I mustn't take him hunting.
According to the BHS agreement you sould put in
anything else the BORROWER needs to know to safeguard both the
horse's health and well-being and his own

Apart from that it was pretty standard.

I put a bit in about my mare being young and experienced therefore gloves and hat should be worn whilst loading etc, to ensure that she wasnt overfaced with jumping . I also said no change in bit or gadgets without prior consultation. They ignored the second two clauses however!

I know someone who had in their loan agreement that the pony had to have a birthday cake, carrot obviously! Seriously.

fortunately I'm not completely bonkers (not yet anyway!), so I don't think I'll be including this one...!!

I put in a limit on BE events he does every season, how often to be shod and seen to by a chiropractor, no hunting or fun rides, no weaving grill (he does weave).

to always wear protective boots when ridden or lunged.

must be turned out every day unless injured and on vet advised box rest.

think that is all but i did put a lot of clauses in!
