What factor sun cream do you use on your horses noses?

I get 'total block' it's for babies and comes out blue (and dries white) so you can see if you've missed anywhere :) it's a boots one

Used to ride a grey with pink eyes and muzzle.
Piz Buin factor 50, allow that to soak in and then smother in sudocreme.

Nivia factor 50 kiddies sun block, comes out super thick... And blue! :D he also has a UV protector that attaches onto his field headcollar. He also has suncream around his eyes  :D

The flymask with nose net attached is the only thing I've found that works well & stays put. Since wearing it I've never had to put cream on her again, & no trace of burning. Before I used childs factor 50 & by the end of the day it was gone & she had pink spots. Flymask so unattractive but what the hell, at least no skin issues.

I use a net that attaches to the nose band of his field head collar (with a breakable bit so he can;t get hooked up) I found the cream just wore off the pinkest bit while grazing and he would still get sunburnt.

Has anyone ever used SPF 20? You put this on at the beginning of the day and it lasts all day without rubbing off. It is expensive but does work. I only wonder as I am allergic to it so I have been wary about putting it on my horse’s nose because of this.

I used to have a pony with white nose. Tried all sorts of creams. Gave up in the end and brought in during hot sun, much the best idea as also controlled grass intake.

Another vote for sudocrem, it's the only thing I found that really works. Apply once a day and her nose is protected, kids factor 50 didn't work as well.

I can recommend the sun sticks you buy for kids.

They are really high factors (35 or 50), they are thick and water proof so stay on for ages, They come in bright colours so you know where you have put them and you don't get cream all over your hands, arms, clothes, the floor and the outside of the bottle!!!!

They are cheap (much cheaper than the creams) and you can get them in most supermarkets, Boots and places like Home & Bargain/Poundstretcher but the cheapest place is Ebay.

I use them on both of mine and people have commented in the afternoon that my horses have got a blue or green nose so i know they last...my big lad is a nose wiper and can't shift it as it's so waxy!!!

A fly mask with attached nose net with an SPF in it, she won't let me near her with suncream!!

My mare's the same... so she has this lovely Cashel mask. :)
