So here I am horseless for er um 6 weeks ish and I am run off my feet.

Started working my friends welsh cross to keep the weight off her and get her going a bit better while she is on holiday and this has grown into can I look after the 3 horses and driving pony while her yard sharer's holiday overlaps so its poo picking two fields twice a day and fly rugging and cream slapping as they have two sweet itchies and feeding the granny her tea and the pony his tea cos he has to have medicine and other two chaff to stop them killing each other. moving electric fencing as they slowly strip graze a paddock plus riding her mare and when she comes back helping work the driving pony has he is a tele tubby and gets laminitic so is in a restricted vorner of the paddock.

Phew!!
 
I hope it's hitting the horse mark for you Flibble, without any of the stress and fear, which it sounds like it may be so that is all good. I always admired you for being so honest about your fears and how you faced the reality of getting rid of your horse. It's good to keep your hand in, though sounds like you are run off your feet! We have someone who used to be on our yard who lost a lovely veteran about 4 years ago and felt lost without a horse. She had a tragic short lived ownership of another horse (about 6 weeks, horse was kicked by another horse and had to be PTS) but after getting very down is now sharing a horse again at our yard a couple of days a week which is getting her through. In comparison though your horsey duties are in another league but enjoy!
 
Well its taught me that my nerves and anxiety related to a particular horse not all 4 legged ones. It has also taught me that I have a unnatural enjoyment of poo picking.
It s just a pity that its a bit like groundhog day.

My mates little horse firmly believes me to be 'The Carrot Lady' as she knows that when the passenger door is opened it means carrots.

The yard cats also see me as she who provides food and come running at the car door. Ah me and some girls feel the need for red carpets and posh frocks!!
