Our horses always wear fly masks. We purchase ones with ears, eye covers & extended nose cover. Don't really care about what make as long as their face, eyes ,ears and nose are covered.

The weatherbeeta stretchy ones like this are really soft. There are various types. One has a forelock hole, one doesn’t and one has a zip underneath.
One off mine takes it off a lot though so he wears a Harrison Howard off of Amazon. It could do with being a bit wider around the eyes though.

I like how they have the padded area on forehead and nose to keep the mask from pressing on the eyes.

Premier equine do the same as the weatherbeeta, stretchy good eye clearance. I was using the horsewear halo ones but think this is nicer and he can definitely see better in it! My YM strongly suggested not one with zips, apparently they are a nightmare to do up and likely to break, especially if they get any mud in the zip. Pull on one seems fine and I don’t think a zip would improve it. You can also get it with the nose cover for a £ or so more.

I like these ones too. I also use the cheap and cheerful shires ones with ears and a nose fringe.

TBH I don’t ever use it. It pulls on just like the others. I didn’t twig it had a zip when I bought it. It hasn’t ever rubbed though. Not all of them have zips I think it is just the delux version.

I really rate the shires ones - I go for the one with no ears and just a fleece band as he seems to prefer it but other on the yard prefer ears. Very rarely has it come off.

Rambo ones work great with eye clearance but I did cut off the branding ribbon as it seemed to be right in the way of her eyes. My other girl has a pe one I’m trying but it can get close to her eyes

One horse uses the weatherbeeta soft mesh eyesaver ones, the ones with a single mesh panel not the bug eyes. Her eyes are too close together for the bug eyes and she ends up with only one eye!
Others either shires stretchy bug eyes or ruggles stretch bug eye.
Ears and forelocks seem to be the deciding factor. A big forelock without a hole tends to come off. And so many are short of the ears!

My horse has a tricky shaped head and the standard ones including the beekeeper style ones don’t fit. I really rate the Ruggles ones.

I have this one for my pink-nosed horse.
The picture is of V1 of the mask - it now comes without the side mesh on the nose, which I find is better - used to get covered in gunk. It holds off the eyes well.

shires, with the white tassels, mine hate the net and it gets all bunged with mucus so i avoid those ones

Shires are great and the premier equine pull on ones, although if he’s nervous shires is probably good start , I use the one without ears so forelock can be out.

Harrison Howard ones are the best I have found, but I prefer the field safe fly fringes personally as they are less likely to rub.

I was told by my local tack shop that Horseware have stopped producing these.
