What fly spray are we all using?

I'm sure I have some Coopers lurking somewhere, had forgotten about it. Can it go 'out of date' tho- it must be a year or two old!

I'd noticed the Mark Todd stuff, I'm off to look up this Phaser spray tho it sounds good!

Thankyou kindly all :)

Phaser, we seem to have a tick invasion this summer and it keeps them off my boy. I've just finished a bottle of spray and have brought the gel to try. It does smell horrid and I swear I can still smell it after a shower but it does seem to work!

I tried Nettex initially - as it was all the tack shop had at the time, but wasn't impressed. Then got some Power Phaser - the gel is great. However I was wobbling about the price. OH saw an advert for Global Herbs Fly Free suppliment - bright yellow and smells foul - spoke to a lady in the shop who swore by it and said she doesn't even use fly rugs now, I've been using this for about a month and I have to say either there's a lot less flies (I think not as I'm getting bitten more if anything) or it really works. I've cut the amount of Power Phaser gel we use to a wipe around the underbelly and another wipe around the ears every 2-3 days, and left off both the fly rug and the fly mask - this is the thin skinned arab x fly magnet.
I am so impressed I am actually contemplating writing to Global Herbs to ask if it's OK to use for humans as I am fed up with mosquitos - killed 4 on me earlier this evening.

I use the NAF one with Deet...it's okay, but may try power phaser now after lots of positive comments on here!

The Power Phaser is brilliant but don't do what I did and spray it in your horses' eyes by mistake...........her eye swelled up hugely and has taken 24 hours to go down. Stupid me, I felt really guilty

Its coopers for me, well star and she has had no bites from those dreaded horseflies.
Have tried Naff deet before and harley lost hair in areas where we sprayed him:mad:

Home made :)

Basically it's just made up of

1/2 Cider Vinegar
1/2 very strong tea
and 8 drops each of tea trea, citronella, eucalyptus and lavender :)

Works really well, and we get through it really quickly but it's really cheap to make so it doesn't matter

another one for power phaser it is fab seecialy in north wales area hard to get hold off but derby house do it for 11.99 so bit cheeper and similar to the other prices alot better than my made stuff will have to say does stink and just had bath and i have still got it on my hands :)

Barrier Healthcare Enhanced Formula Fly Repellant...not doing much, meant to buy their Super Plus Fly Repellant with avocado oil as I think that does work a bit but picked up a wrong one. The first year I had my horse there was a wonderful French fly repellant, quite natural, with citronella, which I thought was brilliant but since the no citronella thing obviously can't get it which is a shame.

we've not had many flies at the moment due to undecisive weather, but i use barrier super plus fly repelent mainly as i love the smell! but it seems to work :D can't feed him garlic as it works against the tablets he gets for sarcoids :(
