I dont rate NAF products at all. if you check the ingredients they are often levels well below other supplements and the cost per day much higher. You pay for their 1000s of adverts, which is why people buy them because they believe the marketing! Much better value for money can be found
The best thing to do is read the labels and work out cost per day- just swapping from one to another without looking at ingredients is not necessarily cheaper. And a supplement will only help if the foot problem is a nutritional deficiency, which is then corrected by the supplement. So a change of supplement may not be better
Best thing I've found is manesium oxide, bought off ebay for £10 lasts about 2 months. Helps toughen up the hooves.
TBH the best thing I've done for my horses feet is to take the shoes off, they were always cracked and didn't grow much at all, now they don't even chip even with all the dry weather
2 years ago my horse had the worst feet i have ever seen- think the before photo in supplement adverts, well i would have been happy had his been that good!
He lost all 4 shoes and was on box rest for months because they were so broken- it was 8 months before he had enough horn to shoe.
Now he has lovely feet, he never looses a shoe (once in the last year)
I feed biotin- which you wont see instant results with but in the long run is great and very cheap. I also feed Spillers Happy Hooves.
Would recommend both- not sure why such a turn around for my horse but this is what i feed and it works!
Linseed, brewyers yeast and black sunflower seeds on the two heavy hairies. Mine have very hard feet, no shoes and do well on this. I have also had good results on my TBs with Equimins biotin.
In summer I also wet the hooves and apply Kevin Bacon to keep them in good condition.
