I have a pair of mucker boots but not sure if they're suitable for riding in or not. What do you ride in? Photo's much appreciated if possible!! :)

Jod boots and chaps for every day riding and also have a set for competitions. I need to get a new pair of long boots for competitions, but have got out of the habit of wearing them. I personally wouldn't ride in muckers although did when I was a teenager, and also in hunters then as well, but I was young and didn't know any better, and it was the fashion in the early 80s. ;)

Pictures on these links.....

I'm a slob, sometimes I ride in my short Hunter Wellies (because I can fit thick socks under them) but sometimes I ride in jodhpur boots, sometimes I even put half chaps on. I'd love long boots but my legs are just too fat

Mountain horse high riders. They're middle range in cost and you can pick them up in sales occasionally. My last pair were worn almost every day for 4 years and although looking tatty now, they are still functional and I have only just replaced them for a smarter pair.

I find they keep my lower leg in a better position than boots and chaps do.

Some form of Ariats...:o :D
Bromonts some of the time, if v hot or doing yard work in between then elderly Heritage jodh boots with either gaiters or my old yard chaps, or if blinking cold I'll be in the Grassmere's as feet stay toasty warm.

Yes, am an Ariat addict, but they are SO comfy & last for ages :)

anything and everything!
ive been on board in trainers (naughty i know!)
builders/walking boots
wellies
even bare foot!!! - never realised schooling could be so difficult without a boot on your foot :)

normally its
mark todd yard boots,
short boots and chaps,
or long comp boots!

Rode with all types of footwear ;) normally ride in jod boots and chaps but thinking of buying some long boots again. Sometimes ride in muckers although i shouldnt really its just me being super lazy

I used to have a pair of those Mountain Horse High Rider boots about 10 years ago. They were one of the first to have the full length back zip. I used to like them but then I found my foot getting stuck in the stirrup as the boots are wider than normal leather boots. The same applies to the short boots (looked like normal walking boots). Now I only ride with traditional long leather boots...

Always Ariat heritage jod boots and Ariat concord chaps

Hate riding in wellys and country style boots - don't find them nice at all!

Have MH supreme high riders for comps

Another Ariat lover here :)

Lived in my Ariat Grassmeres all winter - mega-comfy never a cold toe but a bind to get on and off in a hurry. Thinking about going back to my Ariat Devon Pros and Ariat Gaiters for summer.

For shows I have Ariat Monacos with Tredstep Pro-gaiters as they have a more fitted ankle or my trusty Mountain Horse Sportive.

Whatever I have on my feet on the yard that day so that would be either:

Walking boots
Hkm belmond boots (long brown like ariat bromonts)
Jod boots
Long leather riding boots
Or at one stage muckboots (derwent)

Very practical to wear round the yard and no need to change boots to ride. Wash well, too ;)

And my Karrimors :o I had no decent boots for ages and the boy is sensible, so I wasn't too worried.

Currently, Mountain Horse short boots and Ariat chaps, winter Muck Tyne long rubber boots, for best Ariat Bromonts (brown) or Mountain Horse SCS 3 Lite (black). I also have an old pair of Mountain Horse Safe Rider boots should steel toe caps be required.

Mark Todd long riding boots, but also have Ariat jod boots and Tredstep chaps which are extremely comfy, but I'm into my riding boots lately.

Love my Mountain Horse much boots but would never get on my horse in them

Aquacats and neoprene half chaps, or leather chaps for smarter occasions.

Desperately in need of a pair of smart comp boots but no where can I find nice boots at a decent price for short wide legs :(

Love love my aquacats though. Best jod boots ever

Ariats or ariats ;)

Grasmeres for hacking and when it's cold, jod boots and chaps for summer and schooling although have just ordered a pair of bromonts as my leg position is so much better in long boots and then a black pair of bromonts for competing.

I'm a real ariat fan :o

Dublin paddock boots and half chaps or these:

I'm really picky about my paddock boots and am currently looking for a new pair so at the moment and throughout the winter I've been in my woof wear boots... Fantastically warm in the winter, and don't seem to be roasting my feet in the sun. Plus I find the tops of long boots catch on my saddle flaps and ride down, these are just a bit shorter so don't do that.

I also ride mostly in muckers, and have been riding in the long woof wear muckers for months ! great for hacking, but a pain when schooling as they get caught on the saddle flap- jolts my leg and sensitive horse gets upset :o

I prefer to ride in ariats and my leather chaps but I don't want to ruin them so in the summer I wear my old just togs (I think) boots and stretchy shires chaps.

Jodhpur boots and half chaps, would love some long boots but my legs are too short :(

If you want some long boots... Try the woof ones, they are more 3/4 length than full, you can tighten them nice and snug to your calf... I find them really good for everyday riding

Ditto.
Bromonts for riding.
Mudbusters for mucking out.
Conistons for swanking around Pimms tent :D

Muckers if I'm being lazy (you're not really supposed to ride in them as the tread's really deep) or my lovely long leather boots :D that have a broken zip atm :(

I only ride in proper long boots, usually even for hacking! Have 2 pairs of Konigs which have lasted well. I teach in them and sometime do yard work in them if I'm caught out! Can't imagine schooling in these yard type boots, often looks like a wasted effort as the leg is just not as effective or supportive around the horse.
