What footwear is best for on the yard in summer?

What is everyone wearing at the mo? My woofwear mucker type things have got holes in and I need to replace them, but they are a bit warm for summer and haven't lasted very long. Can anyone recommend some nice boots for summer yard duties?

thanks

I've been looking very attractive in shorts and pink wellies for mucking out and flip flops for the rest.

I'm still in wellies or boots and getting horrifically sweaty feet, but I'm nursing a broken toe and not willing to risk trainers or flip flops!

Remembering my mum's three missing toenails (sustained whilst wearing sturdy leather boots) is enough to make me think that flip flops are an extremely bad idea.

Shorts and pink wellies sounds like a great combo! lol

I'm wearing old trainers at the moment (well, they are 'old' now, anyway) but after the post the other day about someone who got trodden on I've been thinking about getting some boots!

I've been wearing old trainers around the yard (just don't put your toes under any hooves

and riding in riding trainer thingies and knee length neon socks!

I've been sporting shorts and an old pair of mucker type boots with the leather top (and a top of course! its a friendly yard, but not that friendly!). seems to do the trick, although they do end up full of straw after mucking out! never wear sandals/flip flops - broken too many toes over the years doing that!

Well I was wearing old trainers until the new youngster decided to jump down my leg the other day and I remembered why you are meant to wear boots. I have to confess though I wear trainers around Jesper and Tally, and Ariat boots around the youngster now!

I tend to resort to Timberland Docksiders for the summer - slip on and off for when I'm in and out of the house, sturdy enough so you will survive most knocks, but not overly hot either. I have just thrown out my last pair, which I bought in 1995....

i wear my mountain horse ones with toe protection all year round, they have climate control, i never get cold feet in winter and ok so feet are warmer in these than flip flops but they dont get too sweaty that i cant put up with it for a while!!!
I'm loving the neon knee length socks idea.....

Wellies and joddhy boots and chaps here still. I just dunk my feet in the trough if they get too hot

My Mountain Horse short boots and shorts if not riding. If riding add jods and half chaps.

Never do flip flops (my toes hurt just thinking about it) but do wear trainer things if just going up to check him over - am still carefull where my (and his!) tootsies are though!
