My little horse, who doesn't alter his stride when a train goes over the bridge we're riding under and doesn't mind when an army tank, tractor with noisy trailer, huge lorry, etc. passes close by, freaked out the other day when a three legged dog hopped towards him! He spun round and tried to go in the opposite direction as it was SO scary!

wheelie bins and also there is a driveway that is lined with white rocks but one of them is a lump of wood painted white, she doesn't like that one. Also doesn't like a red anorak. Is excellent in traffic fine with lorries, tractors, busses ambulances, prams being wheeled up behimd her etc. When she spooks she just snorts and squirms past with a little drop of the shoulder. She makes me chuckle, bless!

When I used to own my cob, she always used to freak out when we used to walk past this big tree stump in the middle of a field where we used to hack. It was really funny, she was petrified of it. I even hopped off and slowly walked up to it with her and let her have a good look at it but when we walked past it a few days later, she still freaked out lol.

My very sensible cob is not usually frightened of anything, if she hears an aeroplane she will look for it in the sky but not scared. She is very nosy and will look at things and then wants to go and investigate. The only thing she has been terrified of was a horse and cart, she was thinking OMG look at that thing chasing that horse and the faster the horse goes it's still following it!

Drains, drain covers, white paint on the road, squirrels rustling, random clumps of flowers ( different ones every time), bicycles and quad bikes are all the work of the devil.

Enormous farm machinery, trains, low flying planes, hot air balloons are all met with total indifference!

drains, manhole covers...and certain blades of grass that WILL KILL her should she not snort through her nose like a numpty and piaffe away from them!

Tractors? Combine harvesters? HUUUGE lorries ? Nah not a problem, I'll go stand next to them, even when they let the airbrakes off as you go past...

Pheasant feeders are apparently alien probes transmitting information to a spaceship orbiting earth and preparing to invade...
Clear plastic bags for garden waste are also to be treated with utmost suspicion. Certain brightly coloured flowers are a danger too, as is any uncommonly large lump of kelp on the beach. When the waves come in, the white foam lapping the shore is in fact attempting to drag us into the sea and swallow us up.

He takes his duty to keep me safe very seriously!

Donkeys, actually quite dangerous if they bray she ran up the middle of the road, head straight up in the air in a blind panic, was so lucky there wasn't any cars on the road as she would have ran straight into it.
There was also a small section of red brick wall on a hack on the corner, this was was may 3 feet long and about 1.5 feet high, but she always freaked out at it, you could feel her as she trotted towards the corner tensing and waiting for it appearing.
The big black alsations that used to run their choke chains against the metal link fence she didn't bother about, or the tescos carrier bag coming flying towards her in the wind again no problem, but a small red wall or a donkey and you'd had it. After the donkey incident I used to drive round the road to check and see if the donkey was out before I hacked past that particular field :)

LOL awww.

lol omg, well this wasn't out hacking.
Was inside the farm - but the otherday there was like, well what I assume was some sort of school trip of primary children walking along the road which runs along the fence.
She heard them before we both saw them/ I wondered what on earth was the matter!
I've never seen her so winded up! she is your typical laid back lazy cob ( most of the time) but gosh she spooked, cantering about, built herself up into a right sweaty state. bless her.
We walked over to have a proper look, silly mare but she was like eyes on stalks "hmmmm, NOPE! and wanted to turn around" hahahaha.
I don't think she knew what on earth they where, bless her. Little goblins in muticoloured coats to her I assume! DNW.

But yeah other than mass of little childrens, Tractors or Huge Lorries.
Shes pretty good, looks after me - have had cows chase me along the road on the otherside of a hedge - that was pretty scary for me! but she didn't mind she just gave them a snort.

Oh and there was a time down a lane there was a crackling bonfire going and chainsaws, couldn't get her past that so ended up jumping off and leading her past it - she was fine then.

Moterbikes don't faze her, roadkill - things you would assume freak them out - nope.
Just tractors and Lorries mostly - have to baby her then, but I don't blame her, I don't like them either :(

Tractors, lorries, and surprisingly- smart cars.

he has been known to walk through a car park, and not look at a single thing, then throw a freaky at a little smart car in the middle lol. He's not frightened of them, I get the feeling he's just a snob ilmao!!!

The tractors and lorries are a genuine thing though

yellow flowers. or if some crops have been bent over. Combines, water sprayer things, tractors, donkeys all fine. Horses are peculiar.

My mare had a nervous breakdown when we came across an old Morris Minor out hacking! Did look strange though, the elderly person driving could barely see above the dashboard!:D

My boy will pretty much go past anything, one of the most scariest things that I just thought it was going to be a nightmare was BT changing the telephone wire from the poles - long curly cables wiggling around on the road....he walked straight past as if it was the norm! 100 yards up the road a black cat sat staring at him in the middle of the road - we start spinning, napping, up banks. It took 10 minutes to get past that bladdy cat! Arent they great these horses....

Pigs! They are the only thing we ever have an issue with as the moment he smells them he is terrified. It took me 20min to get him past some pigs who were a whole field away the other day

Mine has developed a fear on oncoming cars, lorries and tractors, but only if they stop. I think he thinks that if the vehicle has stopped,it has stopped because its afraid of something, like he stops when he is afraid of something. So all the polite drivers around here who stop are causing me problems!
He also does not like windscreeen wipers, salt bags, houses, gateways, sheep if they look at him a certain way and have horns, hikers, anything that was not there last time he went that way.
Other than that he's fine!:)

Little one's fine with traffic, tractors, launching barking aggressive dogs, etc but butterflies are terrifying. The old lad has been ridden over motorways, railways, met ambulances with sirens going, tractors in the dark with their demonic lights, hot air balloons rising in the next field, has seen, met, jumped over, generally experienced just about everything you can think of without a reaction, but danced sideways across the road at a stone mile marker the other week. Strange animal...

Seeing tractors in the distance - he can't quite get his head around it.
Say we're down a bridle track and he can see a tractor in a few fields along, the tractor looks about the size of a toy tractor. He was only just broken when this happens but every now and again if it happens he has a little look.
He's a very good boy otherwise!

Pickle- Lorries, Buses, Cars and pretty much anything else all good. Tractors are horse killers in his mind though, I always joke he hates them as they stole the clydesdales jobs :p (he is a clydie x)

Henry- he is all good with tractors and traffic. Drains, wet roads, open wheelie bins (closed are fine) and a new bit of concrete all scare him. Also you can hack him for weeks on his own and he'll continually spook at the same thing, take him out with Pickle and stick him behind and he goes along like a totally bombproof horse haha

Fany- nothing, she will walk past/ over anything. But try to take her the long way when she wants to go the short way and you've got a fight on your hands.
Captain- he freaks at anything that was not there the last time he went that way, he has an excellent memory and will notice if something is out of place. Also daffodils.
