English, maths and science are compulsory aren't they? They were last year with me. A lot of "horsey people" chose PE as an option. I chose geography because I find it easy, history because I enjoyed it, ICT so it would look good on a CV, and Spanish because there wasn't anything else I wanted to chose. Don't worry too much about the subject, just the grades. A*-C are what most requirements are. Oh and try your hardest the first time and revise properly! I learnt the hard way and am no doing my A Levels and re siting over £50 worth of subjects... :/

A good spread and work hard to get good grades. My son got all As at GCSE and then had a disaster with his AS levels as he was ill (and had left a lot of work to the last minute which he couldn't do). However, he pulled up a bit for the A levels and still managed to get a place at the University he wanted thanks, I am sure, due to the good GCSEs.

If you are bright and can do maths, science, english, languages, etc. well
I would look at a very well paid career that will enable you to have a horse as a hobby,
and not work with horses. You could have a gap year and work with horses and see how you get on, but have the back up of good exam results.
