Hello,

I am in need of a new girth (46") and not sure which one to buy!
I only hack and have found 2 which could be suitable, please could you let me know what you think or if you know of an other one under £25!
Thorowgood:

Aerborn:

Last one I bought a girth(the one I currently use!) was around 13 years ago (for the same pony!) but the buckles are now quite rusty and the material has started to break a bit so I need to get a new one!

Prefer the bottom one, as the thorrowgood only had elastic at one side. Both our mares have the aerborn ones and they are fab.

Be careful with the humane girths, the D ring can cause a pressure point and also the elastic may not be even especially as they are very easy to overtighten :(

My favourite girth of all time is the Wintec elastic girth, very easy to do up and my boy is more than happy to have it put on :)

Thanks everyone,
Lara b, is it a good girth to go hacking for hours? (I hack for around 2 or 3 hours, 4 times a week -when not working!- with intense hack at the weekend, mostly trot, bit of canter and walk)

Thanks!

Can't see why not, the elastic is distibuted throughout it I think, so should be nice and even. Can't say from personal experience though as I can't even manage 2 hour hack before getting a very numb bum, so haven't tried it for 3 or 4! :D

Ahah ok! Thanks anyway ;-)
They have discontinued the size of girth I need on Frogpool :-(
Was planning on ordering on Frogpool as need to order a pair of flexi stirrups and a belvoir soap and can't find the 3 items on the same website grrrrrrr!
