So sorry for your loss
I'm sorry to read about your loss, DK. I guess you'll never know. Bruising and laminitis can have so many different causes, so even if laminitis was the end result, you won't know what caused it without a PM. It could be liver problems, it could be kidney failure...could be ANYTHING. The important thing is that you did right by her and she's free from pain. xxx
Thank you again everyone, my own instinct told me laminitis but I didn't want it to be so was pleased when vet and farrier both thought not. I still think it probably was especially after reading all your posts. I still have a lot of confidence in both of them and grateful for what they did. Even if the vet had diagnosed laminitis the first visit it would not have changed the outcome.
Thank you for the kindness you have all shown, it is the end of an era as she was my last one and there won't be any more. The field is a sad place at the moment but now it has turned so bitterly cold I am relieved she is not standing out there in the freezing cold.
RIP Kizzy, you were my horse of a lifetime, I will always love you xx
