I have a very spooky horse - he is dreadful in the school. I have had others ride him and he is the same with them too. I have weekly lessons (good as gold with his 'other mummy' on the ground shouting instructions, plus we dont go near the spooky end). I was beginning to think he was bored with the school so i have been hacking him out most of the time lately - then i have been away for two weeks - and gave him a well deserved holiday too.
Came back this week and hacked out the first day - he was fresh and had a good old gallop (not my idea - his and his freinds!!!!)
Next day i gave him his calmer and lunged him, then took him in the school - i was amazed that he was just perfect! This morning i gave him a lower dose of his calmer - didnt lunge but took him straight in the school - again. perfect! Didnt even look at anything.
I wonder what has happened????
Could be:
a) the calmer was excellent
b) he has enjoyed his holiday
c) he benefitted from the previous days gallop
d) giving him time off from schooling has been the turning point
e) someone has swapped him whilst ive been away!
f) a little bit of all of the above (apart from 'e' )
what do you lot think???

E someone has swapped him while you have been away

g) He'll be back to normal tomorrow!

Who knows? It's a horse. Even they don't know what's up half the time. Maybe the tiger that was hiding in the hedge has gone away?
