Went for a spot of shopping at ingatestone last week when I ended up in the hat isle.

Trying them all on I realised how they seemed to have changed quite a bit since I last purchased a hat.

I won't lie my hat is around 7 years old! Never fell off with it or dropped it but I'm sure it needs changing never the less!

I was told by the lady in the shop about all these new rules for hats which were rather confusing and I ended up not buying one in the end!

So which hat do you own? Mines a champion.

I have a PROtector. Don't really like how they look, a bit all the gear and no idea but they do have the highest safety rating and mine is sooooo comfy so I will stick with them.

Sorry to hijack, but does anybody know if there is any difference between the RXC1 and the HS1? are they any safer/better/or just a new/different model? :)

Mines just a bogstandard skull-cap

Charles Owen show jumper, it was the only one that fit. Bought a new one recently, they've become much thicker - my head looks humungous.

Champion ventair skull and the Grand Prix peaked one. Nothing else seems to fit, used to be a CO fit, broke that hat and went on a hunt through about 10 different tack shops to try get one to fit, been wearing Champions since (and a GPA for a bit).

I have a velvet JT for showjumping, although i haven't used it for about 3 years, a Champion junior jockey skull for every day, and a HS1 as yet unused, intended for XC.

I have the gatehouse hickstead and a PROtector. Love the look of both. Also have a charles owen skull cap for xc its pink and I cant remeber what they are called. That is not very comfy compared to the other 2 I feel.

Bucking the trend completely for Gatehouse and Champion brands - I have a Harry Hall Legend ventilated skull cap and I love it! Though it will have to be changed next year thanks to the new rules :( Being a small person, some of the other brands make my head look enormous and this hat doesn't, it's really comfy too and an excellent fit.

Before that though I was a Champion fan.

Pro Tector. Very comfortable and safe. Also comes in a huge variety of colours :).
They also do a free made to measure service so you know you will get a good fit
