What have been your best memories from 2009? :)

2009 has not been a good year but there have been some good points:

Feb - walking into the yard seeing an underweight, terrible hoof/leg condition TB 5yr old and KNOWING it was meant to be..
Getting on said youngster for the first time, teaching him to walk trot and canter and doing our first little hacks
Getting to ride River again - something we never thought would happen and sadly wasnt to last
Getting to ok to start ground work with Luca after his 6 months off for a back injury
Oddly my last night with River - I spent the whole night with him and made it very special its a wonderful memory (RIP little un I still cry for you every day)

Roll on 2010 though - this yr can't be over fast enough and I'll be able to get back on Luca!

Getting a Grade 1 at an endurance ride only 6 weeks after having the plastercast removed from my leg after I broke it back in the summer.

All I had been determined to do was get around safely and not worry about the grade, so to get the best possible grade was more than I'd ever dreamed of in the 6 previous weeks when I'd had to learn to walk without crutches once again and get supple enough to get back in the saddle.

Breaking our shetland to drive,
getting all four to load on their own (2 were difficult loaders),
Geting our own yard and building own stables,
Getting mare who suffered a jump accident 10 years ago over her first pole,
Watching non horsey OH fall totally helplessly in love with all four neddies!!!!!

Here's to making some more great memories next year!!!!

It's been an exciting year this year - first thing would be moving to our own place and finally having H living at home!

Then the expansion of the equine family with Tango and Gretel arriving and finally seeing the biggest grin on my sons face when he trots his pony! (He's only 2!)
Fantastic memories!

Our dressage came on so much, we competed in a Dressage comp at the end of November where we came 6th!

And finally me and my pony went hunting today for our first time! We had a brilliant day and even jumped a 4ft ish post and rail!

I have hung my nose over my daughter's TB for the last three years. Earlier this year she announced she was giving up riding and I faced the decision whether to sell or up my game again and get riding him (I thought I might be too old and no longer have any competitive urges!). We are having a ball, and the summer was hectic as I also still have my cob. So yes, my purse is poorer but I feel on top of the world.

I have a few-

Going out and about SJing to Port Royal with Solo- never got placed but had a whale of a time!

Taking Red SJing to his last competition- we won! Only tiny but it marked the end of Red's competiton career so that was brilliant!! He's retired now so wont be going jumping again, but who knows? He may go Veteran Showing.

Going out and about around Yorkshire with work on the stand- you may have met us/seen our stand- Fox Saddlers, Wetherby.

Going to the GYS with my good friend to groom for her- biggest show Eddie had been to yet- acted like a pro, was placed 10th out of 24. We will be even more successful next season!

Moving into my beautiful home with my boyfriend- been in 6 months now and we are loving every minute of it.

Getting my lovely dog Willow from the Dogs Trust. It's going to be her 1st Christmas in a loving home.

Lots of brilliant memories from my 2009- if I had the pics on this P.C I'd be posting them!

Wow - some of you have had some amazing achievements in 2009!
My best memories were:
- taking part in a 'Ride for Heroes' with the Household Cavalry - how proud did I feel!?

- winning a rosette at our Riding Club - 5th place in Prelim 12

- winning our first ever 1st rosette at a friend's dressage competition.
