Ok, so after a post I put on the other day, yesterday I went to see this

http://www.horsemart.co.uk/advert/1_yr_3_mths_16_0_hh_skewbald_tb_x_north_yorkshire/109868

and, if all goes well with the vet today he is going to be coming my way!!! :-)

I wasn't actively looking for a horse but he seemed very nice and for his age very well behaved (not sure what I was expecting mind).

I think judging by the size of his legs though he may get a little bit over 16hh but we shall have to see. Fingers crossed the vetting goes ok - I had forgotten how nerve-wracking it is waiting to hear how they've gone!!! Lol

I'm not sure what would show up (that you couldn't see for yourself) in a vetting on a horse of his age..?

He does look lovely, very nicely marked, fab temprament - I'd of been back there with the full asking price and a trailer later that night :) good luck with him, I'm quite jealous ;)

Heart murmur - problems with eyes etc - lots to look for in a vetting for a youngster.

Thank you! He was rather sweet with some character thouh.

Yeah i know the vet cannot tell an awful lot but he can check his vitals for me and see him move as he will lead and trot up and he can also just have a good check of his legs for me. I hav ea little niggle about his feet (i think they are justa bit raggy though and that's it) but would like my vet to double check them and his overall front leg conformation really.

Our vet knows what we do with our horses so he'll gvie his opinion hopefully on whether he thinks he'll be up for what we want to do. It's just more for my peace of mind than anything else I think

Well, the vetting went fine, no concerns although the vet did comment he had plenty of bone! Good - nice solid horse is what I want! Lol

So, he will be coming home saturday as want to have plenty of time to get him settled (that's if we can get him in the wagon! hehe)

The intention is for him to do some jumping, a bit of BSJA but a bit of eventing maybe. Mainly he'll be hacking but i will see what he turns his hooves to - I've got a while to find out yet. Think will get him about doing some in hand stuff just to get him used to big horse 'parties' intially. Don't think he'll be wowing anyone in the show ring but it's all good experience.

God, can't believe I've just bought another horse when i wasn't really looking as such!

I know, I am quite shocked!! I shall get some more pics when we get him home. We did take some pics and videos yesterday but will get some better ones.
