what have you accidentally fed in your haynets?

It struck me today that of late I've had a high failure rate in detecting foreign objects in my hay resulting in some rather random objects being found in my otherwise empty haynet in the morning. Now I know this is poor, it has made me feel guilty and that I must be more careful but the list over the last few weeks has extended to;

2 tennis balls
a deflated football (but in the style of a tennis ball - think giant autograph Wimbledon sized)
a dried, compacted and bailed field mouse.

Am I alone in my failings or has anybody else been feeding 'supplements' to their beasties too? :o

One of my kittens he used to climb in haynets hung it up on the wall at the time I thought it was heavy. Then went to do waters and heard howling.

now trying to remove marmite toast crumbs from the key board !

I have had the odd bit of rubbish in hay but nothing major. I think hay made from roadside fields often have crap in the bales. I did have a moment of panic when I fed my horse a £1 coin. It must have lurked in my filthy waistcoat, mixed up with aged pony nuts and soft carrots for ages. Thankfully the horse spat it back, with force, at me. My vet is used to my agonisingly stupid antics, but that one would have taken some explaining.

Not in the haynet, but I did feed my phone to my mare a couple of years ago. I'd dropped it into the speedibeet the night before and hadn't noticed. I found it next to her bucket the next morning, covered in slop. Phones object to being soaked overnight, in case you're wondering. ;)

My yard "neigh"bour found a large fluffy Sylvester - the black and white cat from the cartoon. He was missing a few essentials, such as an eye and whiskers; we sincerely hope they hadn't been consumed. 24 hours later, in another bale from the same batch, I found a sequined pink fluffy slipper - right foot, size 5. Eh?
