I need a bit of horsey Christmas present shopping inspiration. What horsey pressies are you hoping for / getting your horsey friends and family? What are are you getting your ponies for christmas?

I'm also looking for some long boots for myself - my birthday is on 30th Dec. jumping boots, I have very skinny calves, any advice / brands?

Poor you, I know that feeling, it's horrid :( I hope your horse comes sound. Those parlanti's look fab and lots of size options. Thank you.

Guh, those Parlanti's are gorgeous, just wish I could even think about affording something like that!

I'm hoping my hints have paid off and I get the new Dublin country boots (http://www.rideaway.co.uk/dublin-estuary-tall-boot)
I just think they look really smart and I don't need anything too hardy as all the really horrible weather will be tackled by the Muck Boots. So I basically want a nice boot for the better weather when I'm not riding, so these look lovely.

I'd also love a new competition shirt. My Mark Todd summer shirt is wonderful, but I'd like something for when it's slightly colder and I want something with sleeves, instead of having to double layer.
I've got my little eye on these:

If I was asking for something unrealistic, I'd like someone to come and sort the stables out so I have something nice to bring my horses into with worrying more about them getting mud fever inside than outside!
It's something I'll have to do myself though, I'm quite aware of that :(

My three year old is away being started, so all I want for Christmas is a ride on her.

However, as she will be wearing hand-me-downs for a bit, I'm sure there will be a list by Easter.

I always say that with a young horse but it's amazing how quickly you end up getting them the kitchen sink!!! Once you buy that first essential item that's it, the flood gates open!

I hope you have the best first ride and it's everything you hoped it would be... 😁

A set of four completely-impractical-but-oh-so-flashy white brushing boots for when we do our 'posh trotting' , new leather headcollar (current one well and truly chewed by fieldmate), a purple numnah, a couple of pairs of jodphurs (currently sporting near crotchless jods) and some socks (always need socks!) Thanks in advance Santa x

I am replying despite my feelings that the "C" word shouldn't be mentioned until at least December. I have no horsey family so unless I make it really clear I don't tend to get horsey things. I have just backed my 3 yo so there will be lots of hacking this winter so I am asking for a winter liner for my casco to keep me toasty. Would quite like a nice show rug for when we are ready to get out and about next year, but who knows.
I would LOVE a lorry - A girl can dream :D

A new horse!

As it looks like that is in the process of being granted, the next thing I would really like is a new set of rubber mats. May have to wait until january though!

Someone to pay the vets bill!

Horse is taking every penny at the moment so something for me please - and simple things: a plumber to fix all the plumbing issues in my house or maybe a days time from a roofer to sort the damp issues with the blocked chimney or the leaking barn roof. I could go on!

Would love some free-jumps. But none horsey family will never think of that and would maybe cry if they saw the price for some stirrups! So my own wage will get wasted on them.

I'd quite like some new white breeches with sticky bits on the inside of the legs! Animo ones are lovely, but can't do over £200 for something i will most defo cover in ketchup! Aztec equestrian do some similar and much more realistic pricing so will be looking at them, oh and a nice saddlecloth to go with my blingy olvossa ears :) Thanks santa!

Tredstep, Montar and Equiline do breeches with sticky knee patches and are closer to £100, although I think Equiline are a bit more than that.

My family aren't horsey either so I know I won't be getting bespoke Celeris boots or an air jacket unless I buy it myself!

The Tredstep ones look nice too, and I've just bought some navy Montar softshell breeches from Equiport and they are lovely.

My family don't like buying me horse things, so I have been trying to come up with a list that doesn't include horsey items...it is a pretty short list at the moment!
I have just remembered I want a new leather headcollar though, so perhaps I will put that on my list as I can include a link :) I would quite like some of the Harry Hall drift winter boots too, wellies are too cold so thought they might do the trick! they are technically for me so should be ok for someone to get :) perhaps a new show shirt, I do like the ones with a bit of lace in the back...not exactly winter wear mind you...the arena is flooded already anyway though so not likely to get out much!
Ooo this is making me think of all sorts of ideas, doh!

Some nice dry bright weather to dry up the fields and inspire me to get out riding!

A nicely behaved, responsive horse - without me having to climb up onto a hairy mammoth and argue the point until that brief moment of sheer bliss when we achieve "collection" and "on the bit"

All my poo-picking done for the year

All my clipping done for the year

All my mucking out done for the year

Sorry, more than one thing on my list! And I've got a feeling that Santa is going to tell me to Get Stuffed :)

But the main thing I want for my traddie boy is a decent-fitting saddle as the one I've got just isn't a good fit. That is No 1 Priority. One of the Andrea Hicks saddles would do me fine, they're lovely............

A big fat pay rise, and a job near home so I can actually ride. And be able to actually go eventing next year (been wishing every year for the past seven or eight years)

Well, I would dearly love a new pair of top boots, but that's not happening! So I think I'll make it my 12 month goal to save up enough. I'd like a set of crystal plaiting bands, an Equiture Browband, a Le Meiux white saddle pad.

However, next year my Fiance and I are finally going to rent a place to live together, so I bet there's going to be things like cake mixers and blenders, which although incredibly useful, alas they can't compete with horse bling!!

Ah .. thought it was just me lacking in presents from Santa .. Like your idea, think we need to form a plan, don't know about you but I struggle with the keys, my hooves are just too big ...

I'm getting a NUUUU lorry built, but will have to wait til end of Feb for delivery. Have sold our old lorry which is mostly financing it.

I'd also like an indoor 20x60 but think I'm pushing my luck a bit there, also need to have my own place to put said indoor in!!

I'd quite like a posh leather girth with sheepskin liner, oh and the schocomole guards with sheepskin bits on them.

I'll probably get some socks, smellys, & posh clothes that will never see the light of day!!

Spanish beasty here. Forget the hooves and use your lips, much easier. I've skipped the Robinsons site and gone straight to Waitrose.com for a few huge bags of organic carrots (if you're gonna buy your own presents, they should be EDIBLE and of the highest quality. Especially for us delicate Spanish types.)

Horse has more than enough stuff and I am happy with my scruffy clothes so have decided to ask people to donate the money to UNICEF instead because I think they do a fantastic job of helping children in need all over the world.
What I am going to get for horsey family is fluffy fleece socks, neckwarmer perhaps a cute fleece blanket as I have found they work very well as exercise sheets (you pop it under the saddle, it's light and thin, stays well in place, water repellent and easy to wash). Oh and hoof boots for my mum's horse.
