Well it is four years ago today since this little ball of fluff came home at 15 months. As I don't know his exact birthday - sometime early July. I use his arrival day for it.
Happy Birthday Stinky
Leaving the old home
and out in the field later with his new "dad"
and now he is a strapping five year old that looks like this.
Going ridden champion at Ware RC
and reserve champion at Herts County
What an amazing four years I have had - he has taught me so much and given me great satisfaction and fun in this time. I am so happy that I fell in love with those kind brown eyes and bought him on the spot.
Actually to be 100% honest, today he is covered in mud, hair full of dreads and burrs and looks like a yak - he looks like he has been run on the marshes and never seen a show ring.
Saturday when he starts to come in at night, I am going to spend several hours clipping, bathing and bagging him up for the winter - the annual 6 weeks of no rugs, minimal grooming and being left as a wild thing are over for another year.
Wish us luck - next weekend we are attempting our first go at SJ - it will be nice to do something else other than showing and dressage.
