Down here today the weather has been great nice and warm and sunny. I had a great lesson this morning, then spent most of the day at the yard sorting stuff, and this afternoon sat in the sun and cleaned my tack, Ebony went out nude and had great fun. So what have you all been up to today ? Hope the weather was kind to you :)

I was up in Edinburgh last night so just came back after lunch. Spent FAR too long at the yard as one of the ponies popped out a surprise foal yesterday and it just needed me to cuddle it ;) :D Just too cute!

Nice and warm so ignored the muddy field and let my boy go out naked today for the first time this year :) Of course he rolled immediately, but he looked so happy. Bring on more springlike days!

Mucked out (big dig out day today), sorted rugs (we have far too many and they all seem to end up on his stable door), poo picked (let Kal have an hour or so naked while I faffed about the yard), washed the wheelbarrow, gave the hairy beast a good going over with the mini shedding blade, long reined him (he was very, very good) . . . he is now tucked up in his nice clean stable having had his tea and I am contemplating putting our dinner on (Indian tonight - Keralan fish curry, chicken Madras, pilau rice, daal and naan).

Aw well cute, one day i was walking down the field and just saw these feet coming out of the mare who was due to foal ... I near had apoplexy !!!
Within 5 mins there was the most gorgeous wee foalie on the ground, the mare ran to the other side of the field  it was like she got the fright of her life:eek:
Got some pics of when she was just born and with the other horses in the field, shes a cracking wee pony now, cheeky and dead bold

Today I have driven to Ely, faceplanted in the ground, faceplanted into Fergs neck (and now my head hurts ), "broken" my finger (not broken just being a wuss), ended up with one fergie-leg down a massive drop and the other one "stuck" on top , jumped some epic fences none of which I have on film  and driven home :p All in, not a bad day :D

You're all so good.

Elder daughter went hunting on Manni, taken by her dad.

I dropped younger daughter off at her school as she has gone on a week's ski trip.

And I - well I, watched Gavin and Stacey on Comedy Central ALL DAY. :)

Got up, took breakfast to the steeds, planned to head straight home but enjoying the sunny morning too much so did a barrow of poo picking, took off all rugs so the boys could all be naked for a couple of hours, soppily watched them being boring in the field (because they knew I was watching obviously) then home to a DIY house, had to wait 2hrs for a shower as new bathroom door being fitted so watched crap on TV. Made self presentable and then went to pub for lunch and a spot of IT Box with friend.

Now residing on the sofa with a little sausagey dog and a blanket, iPad and HHO - ideal!

A friend came and helped me with the horses this morning and we took the chestnuts for a walk. My friend and the horses were fab - it was me that was causing trouble although I didn't mean to. ;)

I had a really good dressage lesson today, feel we'd made big progress over the winter so much so my instructor feels we'll up for affiliated in the summer. So proud of my lil Chloekins! :)

I went for a lovely impromptu hack with my friend both horses were very well behaved and the sun was shining. Then this afternoon went with same friend to a dressage writing workshop at our new RC which was very informative and a good chance to meet some of the people at the club. A really good day all round :)

I took Chico to the local riding school for a lesson for the first time!

A little concerned as it took me 45 mnutes to get him on the trailer at the yard but luckily i started early and made it to the riding school on time.

Had a fab lesson in the outdoor school in the sun, great experience.

Then happily he got back on the trailer no problem (he was really worn out bless him!) to come home.

Brilliant day :D

Mild but dry and grey here today. Not been sleeping and still exhausted as still recovering from my near-death at Christmas. So, I walked the dog after checking all 8 horses, and feeding them. Went shopping then was busy spring cleaning from 1pm - 5pm. Just had roast chicken I cooked for tea. Oh, and I clipped my dog, cleaned the hens house, and moved a cabinet from a bedroom to the garage.

I spent the afternoon down the yard with my mare :) She was out in a lightweight rug with no neck, for the first time in a while!
My sister long reined her and I had a little ride (I'm not meant to be riding due to a shoulder injury but I am a baaaad patient :D) and Bella was really good so am pleased with her as she's not been doing much work due to me not being allowed to ride and the weather recently.

Weather today wasn't too bad either, wasn't 'warm' but wasn't freezing, which is an improvement on the last few weeks! I had a lovely time today, hope everyone else has had a good day :)

Took OH and son to football training, friend rode Bridie for me, mucked out stable, when friend came back I untacked Bridie, groomed her and put her out naked for the first time and she had the best roll! Now watching Family fortunes and getting ready to crack open a nice bottle of wine and HHO to try and catch Trolls! :D

Lovely day here. Went looking for a new dishwasher this morning as my beloved old dishwasher of 14 years decided to go "bang" on Wednesday.

Went to yard. Held stroppy mare while she had her mane pulled ready for next week's competition, then read Novice 36 for my friend while she rode stroppy mare - came to the conclusion that Nov 36 was quite hard, so I tacked up my horse and we abandoned Nov 36 and went out for a nice hack instead! Pottered around having coffee, chatting, filling haynets and left the yard at 5.00 having given horse a huge pile of haylage.

Took the dogs for a quick spin around the woods. Cleaned the guinea pigs out.

Now watching Buffy season 6 (nothing on the telly!) while waiting for the chilli to cook.

It must be the weather or we have all gone a bit mad or mader (is that a word) you have all done so much and seems that you have had great lessons, rides, and been working hard around the yard, mind you nice weather does make you just want to get out there, really did not want to come home tonight, lets hope more of this is on the way :)

shifted 12ton of stone for my driveway at the yard. gave my daughter a bit of a lesson, tided up yard, went to the shop, hovered the house, made a curry and now im ready for shower:)

No riding unfortunately :(

Spent the morning DIY-ing the ponies stable since he has to be on box rest, tidied my container, came home and lunched before heading up the road to do a photoshoot for someone. Got home, had a cup of tea and was off back to the yard. Let him munch his haynet in the afternoon sun :)

I've walked 4 miles today and am shattered!

Oh and I managed to flood his stable whilst chatting on the phone :o

Got our three lovely new donkeys settled, introduced them to feed buckets and haynets... they're so cute!!
i went for a really long hack on tank with mum on her big mare round the block
now im home making a picnic for p2p tomorrow!

Wasted the entire morning due to unscheduled hangover (work do last night)!

Hacking out alone is a work in progress at the moment, set back by our move to a new yard. Today's plan was a wander down the track and back alone, but my absolutely lovely YO came on foot and even offered to run bits so I could trot, and we ended up staying out for nearly an hour - the noble steed was an absolute superstar, so the next step is going out without anyone on the ground. A walk around the village with someone on foot isn't the most impressive achievement ever, but we've taken a lovely step forward with no disasters and I'm still smiling from ear to ear!
