I have cleared 2 stables, layed 2 stables with new rubber matts, mucked out, ridden and swept the yard. Legs are aching hugely. You?

Today I had a wonderful day. I have a dear friend who has terminal ovarian cancer. Over christmas she had a major bowel operation and has been recovering since. She has not ridden since October. Today we took her for a walk on the lead rein in the sun. She has lost so much muscle and was weak but her smiling face said it all. The healing powers of horses. Can't get better than that :-)

Fed 2, poo-picked 1 & mucked out 1, filled water tanks, made up feeds, swept yard.
Into work by 08.30 till after 5 with a full-on manic day.
Back to yard & lunged CF, groomed, fed 2, poo-picked 2, put in hay.
Called in at friends for 20 mins who is on 3rd cycle of chemo, now home & just about to serve up dinner.

Dreckly, thats wonderful for your friend xx

I chucked out and mucked out this morning, ran two of the dogs up the field.....then the cold thing reared.its ugly head again and I slept for two hours going hot and cold then dragged myself to yard to finish off and walk dog number three who is on slow walks because he has pulled something in.his leg.
Now just finished dinner and going to finish the dogs bed cover I have made.

Only brought ponies in and made feed and fed it to them, as weather was too wet to ride.
Oh and rubbed arnica on to Sunny's left front leg, as she decided to run through the post & rail fence, so as a result she's a bit sore.... and lets just say I got a bit worried.....:o

Dropped my daughter to school, went to work. Went up to do horse had quick 20 main potter as both of us feeling very lazy today!! Back home cooked tea, glass of wine and now comfy on sofa in PJs.

That does sound wonderful.

I went to The Vatican then wandered around Rome in the sunshine.

chucked out and mucked out my 2, took the dogs for a run, tried to track down a certain paint i need for a job and cleared a huge bramble patch which viciously whipped a length across my face and got stuck on my nose , , i couldn't get it off so had to cut both ends and go and search for OH who thought i looked very funny with it stuck on my face....... it left a hole in my nose when he pried it off.ouch!!

Dreckly..... what a lovely thing to do, brought a lump to my throat reading that. xxxxx

Got a bit grumpy .... went to yard where pony is on full livery, bright him in obviously not sound on off fore. YM told me he looked a bit "off' when she turned him out this morning but didn't think to let me know!!! GRRR!! Otherwise pretty ordinary day of dog walking, supermarket run, domestics ... all a bit boring really. Will see how pony's sore foot is in the morning.

watched my instructor ride my horse, it is the first time I have seen someone else ride my horse properly (I was the one one the ground when she was backed) so I have been fairly lazy today

Fed cats, drove to yard, fed my 2 breakfast, put lw rugs on and turned out 4 horses, drove to work, did a 10 hour day, went back to yard, fed my 2 and put on their night rugs. It's unusual for me not to ride and muck out, but I had a big day today at work, they're very flexible so I don't mind the odd early start

I should add that my daughter mucked out in between her work shifts and a friend bought them in for me

Day off today so I had a dental check up. I've gone from NHS to a dental plan this year so had my first appointment with the hygienist as well as my dentist and she was hilariously impressed with my teeth, she spent the entire examination going "lovely...beautiful....well DONE you....I hardly ever see teeth like this...very nice". Apparently my brushing technique is excellent :p. Then I had lunch out with my Mum, who is retired, and then spent some time at her and my dad's house, cuddling my cat, Stan, who lives with them. It was a nice day, all in all :)

Left home just before 7 am, dropped dog off with parents, drove 40 miles, supermarket in for meeting at 8.30 am , registered children. Pastry lesson, demo and made flaky pastry then did photo copying etc, taught year 9 for 2 hours, lunch, 2 hours of year 7 making biscuits, options evening from 4-6, had 35 mins tidying time. Drove an hour home, grumpy dad ... He had rang me 4 times to get fish and chips... Oh dear luckily steak an reduced fresh chips from shopping, cooked and just got in.... Luckily mum does ponies on late nights from school.

Fed 3 at one yard, fed, mucked out one at another yard, turned out, went to work, went to get feed and shavings at lunch, back to work, went back to single horse, brought in, finished mucking out, fed, put bedding, hay and water in, went home, ate a jacket potato, went to boots but they didn't have what I wanted. Now at bf house chilling at last

Went to work this morning and managed to get away just after 2. Picked up my friend who can't drive herself for medical reasons and we had a jumping lesson. Samuel was awesome and we did a grid ending with the last jump at around a metre which is the highest I've ever jumped Sam (I love jumping but I do suffer from lack of confidence once the jumps get over 2'6"). Very pleased, sadly no pics though. Skipped out his bed even though I don't have to as I currently I have him on weekday part livery. Can't wait to go back on to full DIY again so I can do all the mucking out etc. myself - yes, I'm one of those weird people that actually LIKE yard chores. Only been on weekday part livery for the winter because of the logistics of turning out and bringing in clashing with my work hours and it costs the same at my yard to go onto weekday part livery as it would if I just paid to have him turned out and brought in!

Up and turned out the pony, walked the dog and smashed my phone, took said phone to be repaired and went and bought dinner before going back to fetch it. Wrote some of my script and my methodology for uni whilst watching Cheltenham, taught a lesson, schooled another, went to ride mine but he had pulled a shoe so I mucked out and came home.

A lot! Lol☺️
Fed 28 horses twice, mucked out 17stables, shovelled 19 barrows of muck onto the trailer, swept 3 yards 6 times, scrubbed out 28 feed bowls and 17 water buckets, made 34 haylage nets, skipped out 5 times, & shovelled that muck not the trailer too, organised, tidied and swept out the feed room, rode 3 horses, lunged one mare, did a tack condition and fit check for 20 horses then made alterations, took 4 barrows of hay to 4 fields, bathed one horse, did all the nessercary rug changes/ stable bandaging/un-bandaging, prepared a stable for 1 new horse, hitched & prepared the trailer, put down 6 new straw beds, set up sj course in the Indoor then tidied the jumps away again after, groomed 8 horses, tidied hay area, tidied tools, walked a mile to the field to bring back the Shetland... took seemingly hours to catch her, topped up water twice more... And that's it!! I think? Today was supposed to be a quiet day too!! :)

Turned horses out mucked out two did feeds and hay hacked out one, de cluttered kitchen and utility (aunt and uncle visiting friday:)) hoovered house steam cleaned most of the rooms, cleaned 3 bathrooms, did 3 loads of washing did a pile of ironing, did some cobweb removal around house and yard, swept up back garden jet washed patio, cooked diner watched tv going to bed soon.

Not a good day. Got son off to school, put load of washing in. Then drove daughter to her school and back (in the other direction!) to drop car in for repair to *ding* , had to pay £££ deposit for courtesy car which I'm paranoid about scratching/muddying (!). Back home to hang out washing, do few other chores around the house then off to yard. To find my boy had been "coughing his guts up" this morning when next-stable neighbour fed them first thing, he'd also trashed his bed, and spread & buried his poo. Mucked out and made up stable, sorted time for vet who has stable-the-other-side to check him as the cough has been around on & off for a while, then brought him in (so I could get covered in hair) and since he was OK I tacked up for a quiet pootle round the farm with friend and her aged gelding (4 old crocks?) which we all survived. Then waited as vet was delayed, but she came, prodded and listened and has put him on meds :( also I will be keeping him out 24/7 again from tomorrow and he will move to a field where he can share haylage (he's had that when in but hay in the field). Old vets used to send out a bill eventually, but today I had to pay on the spot so more £££! Glad for a quiet evening, though I fall asleep then wake up at this silly time, :( (oh and more washing done)

Dreckly, thank goodness for friends like you putting smiles on such special faces. I bet your friend loved it. :)

I got up, fed the minions (the mini shetlands) and poo picked their paddock, did their water and cleared the leftover hay. Went and fed the sheep. Checked on the little boys (4 pony liveries) did their water and up to the top field to check the 5 big boys and whip their rugs off again as such a lovely morning here. Back home, bit of brekkie then took the dogs for a walk. Home again, spent a couple of hours working and then off to do checks on all the horses and ponies again, this time doing a bit of moult removal as even rugless, they are getting too hot now just cantering up the field to see me. Dan and I had lunch as he was off work today, then took the camping chairs into the minions paddock with a coffee and sat with them for half hour as they're still a little shy. Then Paulo decided to have a mad five minutes and do his best impression of a galloping bronco...not nearly as dramatic as I am sure he thought it was, but it was cute watching him try!

Back to work for a few hours, more horse checks, out for shopping and some dinner and then went up to rug the big horses...at 8:30pm...quite a task in the dark and had to leave two of them naked as they were just roasting and it's a mild night.

Oooh, almost forgot, Dan, the man that couldn't understand why anyone would like horses a few years ago, came into Countrywide with me and tried on a hat...all excited at the prospect of riding a bit this summer. He has come with me almost every time I have gone out to do the horses and ponies in the last few months, gives just as many cuddles as I do :)

Watched the final episode of season 5 of The Good Wife and now watching the most recent series of House of Cards :)

There, think that is all, lol

Dropped kids off at school. Gave the 4 forest ponies their hay, poo picked for 4 ponies, lunged Flicka. Went to work for a hour. Came home, sat on my arse, put a few bets on whilst watching the racing. Picked up my kids and a friend of eldest son. Cooked tea and then went to work at 6pm.

Lovely lazy morning with a cup of tea, book at puppy cuddles (horse was at the vets/work for bone scan so no pre work mucking out!). Things went somewhat downhill from there! 16hrs fairly non stop work which culminated with trying to bottle feed a very distressed foal whose mother we just PTS after fighting to save her for 8hrs. My horse was upsettingly lame on the lunge pre scan when he had gone in with a suspected bad back, but bone scan results look to be frustratingly ambiguous. Failed to make it to puppy class due to work but did have to fish a not entirely recently dead mouse out of her mouth. I am now home and desperately tiered, but wired from work so can't sleep! Oh and the cat just tried to lick my eyeball... yep, roll on tomorrow.

Up at 6.15. Arrived at yard for 7am, mucked out fed etc, went to work (set off from stables at 7.45). Did approx 6 hours of working on spreadsheets, with 1 hour pulling my hair out. Drive back to yard. Exercised ponio, mucked out fed etc again, back home for 7pm. Did some jobs around the house til 8pm when I Helped two fellas man handle a sofa bed I'd advertised for free on a Facebook page out of my house. They were picking it up for someone in need. Eventually sat down at about 9am with something to eat and was in bed and asleep by 10!
Not the best day. Hate working for a living. Feels like all I do is slog my guts out some days but I know I'm not the only one in that boat so I'll stop moaning now!!!!

Went for swim, walked dog, fed horses, did some ground work with youngster, poo picked, moved fence, picked up sycamore seeds, washing, hoovering, did some of my online course, made the tea and fell asleep on the sofa
