Time to post about your dogs' 2010s!

Here's mine:

My brave girl got diagnosed with HD this year. She went from this:

To this:

But then, after a few weeks of sleeping on the sofa, she turned into this:

And now, she looks like this:

And I am so incredibly, overwhelmingly, proud of her. Next year is going to be much the same as she needs her other leg done. But, my darling girl will pull through because she's the most special star in the sky and the warmth in my heart.

Mine as always have been my reason for getting up every day. Nothing outwardly earth moving, but they mean the earth to me.

B has just been B, managed to keep all his hair on this year, no itching, no scratching, no lameness, only one incident with his nemesis the doberman, and he ran around him in circles with his tail wagging rather than tried to take him apart limb from limb!

Took him to his first trial, not to compete but to take part in a training course, he travelled brilliantly, he was a superstar and got some fantastic comments from the judge, was so proud of him, and hope to finally start competing in 2011 now he seems to have gotten over ALL of his bloody issues touch wood, and wheels permitting!
No pics of the actual course as I was at the end of the line and my friend was also working her dogs, but here he is that weekend and having a play in the training field.

He's always smiling, his tail is always waving like a banner, he loves life, and that's the most important thing to me.

Well i'm not sure if this counts, but Millie was born, and moved in with me, housetrained, walking on the lead, sitting, down, recall (most of the time) - and has generally been an adorable companion for me since she came home!

I'll stick her in an envelope now - but i have to warn you she has spent a lot of time on the muck heap today and now has aroma of stale horse wee, and is a rather fetching beige colour (even on her white bits!)

Well Betsy was only born in march this year, so she has done quite alot

She is fully housetrained, sits, lies down, paw, stay and leave are all sorted... recall is coming on in leaps and bounds.

About 3 months ago or so she switched from being a gobby little ankle biting, sock stealing, in your face creature to being a pleasure have around. God knows how it happened but all of a sudden I had a lovely puppy.

She only came to us in February so does that mean I can list absolutely everything she's learnt?

- Sit (no, she didn't even know that ), down, stay, paw, beg, speak, come, gee, haw, hike, steady, wait, this way, watch me, off, hup

- How to be left alone at home without howling/peeing/destroying things

- How to calmly greet other dogs, to move away from them again without being dragged and to ignore them when asked

- To walk on a slack lead 99% of the time (excepting very exciting new situations) and to follow voice commands on the long line

And a million and one other small but significant things that mean she no longer deserves the title of ASBO wolf as she is pretty damn good these days, and my life is richer for having her in it.

What a good post!
Flora has done many firsts and has had many achievements this year (because she has far more purpose in life than her poor mother ) First time at crufts and first placing at crufts, qualified for next year. First time out beating, first bird picked the other day. She has also overcome her dog fear/aggression issues thanks to going out working and is now fantastic with others.
Milo obviously has achieved surviving the horrid chocolate incident!
As a pack though the most special thing they have done this year is be there for me through thick and thin. I honestly couldnt have made this year without them all. We have moved house and they have had to adapt to new surroundings and routine with hell of a lot of upheaval and change. They have done it all quite happily, because they are with me and thats amazing, they have all been superstars to me this year, I couldnt ask for anything more special than my little pack and ythe love they show me every day.

Jack started his pets as Therapy work and did a days fund-raiser during which he was a saint including calming a very upset downs syndrome boy who poked him in the eye by accident.

Despite his grumpiness, he has been a saint with Quila.

Quila has been a very good girl despite mummy having been in hospital for the first month we had her. She's learnt to sit, down, leave it, wait (stay), her recall is better than Jacks and she also learnt to 'touch'.

My three have greated me with unconditional love and affection no matter what else has gone on throughout the day ...they alwys make it right xxx

First of all Winston has been everything I have wanted in a dog, his behaviour is ace and his complete madness makes anyone smile. Look forward to next year when I want to start working him as a sideline and try beating! Also his and my horses behaviour when we have started riding out together, especially shown by winstons heel to the horse past two excitable pointers! Mention to my horses complete ignoring of Winston's crazy behaviour diving out behind bushes etc. Look forward to more of this now he has reached one!

Also Nap the collie, or sheepdog who lives at my OH's parents farm. When I first met Nap he was not trusted to do anything and led a very boring life. He has now transformed to havign excellent recall (thanks to lunge line) being able to go for long walks, being abrill friend for winston. But most of all showing some sheepdog ability and instinct that I thought I would never see and was told i would never see! Today in the sheep shed he looked like a sheepdog, working the sheep alongside his (suppposed) father. Roll on 2011 where after a winter of work in the shed with the sheep he might be even better outside. Also look forward to looking this time next year when my OH's sheepdog puppy should be working.

Alice Springer was born on Jan 6th 2010 She went from this...

And she made friends with my rescue dog, George, who, although he still has a way to go, has come on in leaps and bounds cos of Alice. He learnt to play with toys and interact with other dogs and go for walks without freaking out and is on his way to becoming a 'normal' dog

But Daisy Dog has turned into an old lady She is 11 1/2 now and the last few weeks I have really noticed a difference in her. However, she is still training Alice to be a terrier Alice follows her round when she goes hunting and tries to copy her And she can still open her own Christmas presents

Alfie has been my first dog and the cheeriest, easiest puppy plus a jolly good hot water bottle!

And coming top of the class in puppy training (above all the show-off spangles and labradors)- got a little red rosette and everything!
