My horse (TB x Welsh D) is super fussy with hay and haylage. She will not touch the haylage I have at the moment which I think is meadow hay, but it is really sweet smelling, moist and fine. I have recently found that she loves italian ryegrass haylage but from further inspection it has a huge amount of sugar in it and will send her even loopier than she is at the moment! I would like to feed her haylage as she is still growing and needs to gain some condition and muscle but I don't want to keep buying different types of haylage only for her not to eat them and have to give it to my cob...
Never tried timothy haylage or hi fibre ryegrass. Has anyone had any luck with these with regards to palatability and not sending them through the roof?
Thanks in advance
