basically im thinking about everything i would have to pay for if i bought a horse for myself. obviously there may be unforeseen costs but what are the the things i will have to pay for?
so far i have:
  • livery
  • hay
  • bedding
  • feed
  • shoes
  • insurence
  • lessons
  • competitions
  • tack/rugs etc

is there anything else you can think of?
 
Vacinations
Dentist at least once a year
Transport for competitions and lessons away from home

Just the additional regular things like annual dental check/work, back check, worming every 12 weeks. Feed supplements, fly sprays etc. Travel costs to and from yard and any extra livery charges for say holiday cover.

Can't think of anymore.
 
With the cost of petrol - definitlely factor in costs to get too and from the yard!

Seriously this is probably my most major expense and the one i dont ever take into account or budget for.

Agree with the others, you've covered most things.
umm, saddlers and back people- just now and then!
 
Don't forget all the initial outlay as well: Wheelbarrow, fork, broom, skip, feed bowls, feed bins, scoops, hay-nets, first-aid kit, grooming kit.

Vets fees - you need to factor in for the small things that go wrong and are around the amount of your excess so you don't claim.

Washing & re-proofing rugs.
