I bought a 2 yr old warmblood x cob last September, we was very skinny with backbone sticking up and all ribs sticking out, through careful feeding and worming he's doing really well, put on loads of weight an full of energy. He will be 3 in June and standing at 14.1 at the moment but very bum high. What do u think he will make and will his bad start affected his growth or will he make up for it now?

He should make up for it now but be careful not to shovel too much food in so he grows too fast. I would expect him to make between 15 and 15.2 max but some surprise you and just keep growing.Others simply stop at three and that is it
Best test to date is the string test where you put a piece of string from elbow to ergot on the front leg then keeping the string taught swing it round keeping the string on the elbow above the horse's withers and measure there if the horse is in proportion that should give the height of the horse fully grown

My section D was 14.1 at 2.5 years old at 3.5 years old was is 14.1 and a half but still growing and maturing and now is 14.2 and i think still growing.

Different breed I know, I did the string test on him at 2.5 year and it said 14", it STILLsays 14", they are all different, he will still grow though and I think WB keep growing upwards for longer than something like a D with more pony blood.

Be a nice surprise to see what happens!
