Over the years I've learnt many wonderful things from my equine friends.
Boo, the first pony to steal my heart, taught me how to love a lazy horse, even when they are breaking your toes.
She also taught me the true meaning of friendship, how to stand by a pony nobody else really cared about, how to laugh at the bad times and cry when things eventually went right.
Wizard taught me the true meaning of 'having a good seat', and he also taught me how to forgive a naughty pony. He taught me that crying into a ponys mane, after he's just thrown you off, is the best source of comfort.
Minsteral taught me how it feels to ride a horse, how to see a horse go through pain only to fight back, he taught me to lose myself in my riding and ride a horse with confidence.
Jazz taught me that no matter how dirty the pony is, theres always a clean coat underneath it all, she also taught me controlled jumping!
Racer taught me how to catch an escaped horse without getting hurt.
Gem taught me that big horses aren't always scary for children to ride and she taught me to never judge a horse by what someone else tells you.
Carlos taught me the true meaning of loyalty, and also how annoying trying to poo pick a field is when the horse won't let go of the shovel!
Benji taught me how to love the unloveable, to see the inside of a horses heart regardless of whats on the outside, he taught me how to fight for an animal and to care for them without thinking they owe you anything. He taught me that even the horses others deem 'hopeless' can have hope and strength in the most vulnerable situations.
Bronko taught me that falling off happens, and that I should expect it with him, he also taught me that a naughty horse to ride can be an angel to handle. He taught me that not all stallions are evil, some of them have the biggest hearts.
So many happy memories, so many lessons learnt, and in the words of Susanna Kaysen "Some I've seen, some never again, but there isn't a day my heart doesn't find them"
