As per the title really, what bog-standard household items do you find most useful at the yard?

I'll start with aqueous cream, flippin' amazing stuff! Can be used on hooves to add moisture when they get dry (hah!), and is also good for moisturising/ softening up those scabby, hard patches of skin on your horse's "sensitive" areas.

Your turn!

Sponges!! Refuse to pay prices in tack shops, poundland car wash ones are perfect.

Baby oil

Avon Skin So Soft is an amazing fly repellent + skin moisturiser. Wouldn't be without it.

Loads of stuff, value polish for manes & tails, washing powder for grey pony, Tesco value all purpose cleaner for buckets etc, washing up liquid, human conditioner, wooden spoon for feeds, kitchen devil, toaster, kettle, loads of first aid stuff, tool kit, cheap sponges & plenty more.

Baby wipes, wooden spoon for feeds, fairy for bath time, Mr sheen for showsheen, Avon skin so soft for midges, rubber gloves.....

Pens! Flipping pens! Had to write a cheque with a permanent marker the other week bc all the pens were MIA!

Otherwise - wooden spoon, towel, baby oil, Vaseline, baby wipes, garden centre empty spray bottles so I can spray baby oil and buy fly repellent refills (cheaper). And biscuits :)

And coloured electrical tape, while I remember. Lots of uses :)

Quite good when Tesco have those random household bits for sale for about a quid each - boxes of odds and ends on the end of aisles every so often.

Baby wipes, aqueous cream, salt, dustpan and brush, sudocreme, wooden spoon, washing up brushes for cleaning buckets, nappies & gaffer tape

What are the nappies for? :D

We have fairy liquid, Mr Sheen, human conditioner, dettol, vinegar, salt, human first aid stuff (sudocrem, vaseline, iodine spray), sponges and towels.

And when I did polo, then coloured electrical tape was a must for bandages and tails :D

They make fantastic (and cheap!) poultices :D I'm sure they also come in handy for those brave enough to take little 'uns up to the yard, though I personally intend to use them exclusively as the former for the foreseeable future (and then some!!)
