What/How much do you feed your horses in light work?

Ad lib hay, speedibeet and her supplements (glucosamine and some biotin). I would class her as in light work, but she is ridden every day either schooled for and hour or so or hacked for the same length of time, she is also lunged every morning as our fields are currently shut - more allowed to potter round on the end of a line as we aren't allowed to turn out in our school than lunged properly off a bridle etc though.

Good grazing topped up with hay morning and evening when weather is bad.
Two scoops of Spillers Happy Hoof and one scoop of Spillers Low-Cal balancer.
Lives out 24/7 16.2h ISH. Ridden 3/4 x a week in Winter (1hr each time)

Mine (shetland, Section D and L/W cob) are out 24/7 on okayish grass. I split a scoop of no molasses hifi between the three of them, same with a scoop of equilibrium low and a scoop of speedibeet. They all have mag ox and salt thrown in too and a wad of hay each.

Same thing morning and night. None are in work atm because the weather's so vile and we've not long moved them but am paranoid that whilst the grass is still longish the quality might not be spectacular. I also feed their hay in a haylage net (hung off a stake) so it takes longer to eat and will increase their overnight hay when the grass is gone.

PS most of the time they ignore the haynets and stick to the grass unless the ground's frozen or they decide trashing the hay barn is much more fun. Grr.

my Connemara in lightish work -
AM and PM - Hifi and some pony nuts. PM he also gets a treatball with some High fibre cubes. Other than that, plenty of hay when in the stable at night and a vitamin and mineral lick so he can top himself up when needed.

Can I ask what you all class as 'light work' too please? :-)

I regard light work to be all low levels of everything. Average hacking, RC, schooling, dressage etc all to a low level. I think people are too quick to think they are doing medium work, when IMO high work is racing or 3DE!

Very good doer on mud field most of winter ie, no grass, gets 1-2 haynets of hay depending on what time he comes in, 2 handfuls of Top Spec Top Chop Lite with one handful of Allen and Page Slim and Healthy, a joint supplement and 1 chopped carrot. First winter that I've had the option of having him on hay so hoping that might make a difference. My only worry is the vits and mins he's missing out on - I do have some D&H Equibites but he's not too keen...
