What injuries have yo sustained from Horse riding

Badly bruised Coccyx
Concussion
Been kicked in the head (and now have a scar!)
Many bad bruises and scratches
And I suffer from Sciatica which I wouldn't be surprised if it was caused from falling off!

I've only had minor injuries such as dislocated hip, broken collarbones etc but I admire some people on here that go through really awful injuries, pull through and then get straight back in the saddle doing what they love.

A bleed to the brain and that was with a hat on!!!! I will never ever get on a horse without a hat as a struggled with simple things like climbing stairs for awhile but without it i could be dead!

This makes me feel lucky! I've had a few hairy incidents, horse slipped & rolled in a water jump but somehow we were both fine and carried on soggily, after a dirty stop I landed on a spread without bringing it down , got broncked and stayed on but nearly killed myself getting over a stile on the way out of the yard afterwards and was very thankful I hadn't taken my helmet off. The most lasting injury was mistiming a pony going into trot and really jarred my back connecting with the saddle, don't know how it happened really but remember the shock wave, poor pony probably did too but I'd like to hope his side of the saddle was less evil than mine. I also got trampled leading a pony in trot for the first time when I was 8 or 9 but didn't say anything and hid my swollen ankle because I didn't want anyone to think I'd done it wrong and not let me do it again. :o

Several large haematomas from being stood on kicked crushed etc. Couple of scars to head from being kicked plus concussion. Torn knee and ankle ligaments, broken toes, and a spinal crush which ended up with the surgeon operating on my lower back - I sneezed today and it wasnt pretty!

Reading all these injuries and we wonder why people think horsey people are nutters  ;) :D

I have been very lucky in comparison and have relatively few injuries (to date)

Pulled muscle in back from share horse rearing and spinning at a jogger and sending me out the side door. If I hadn't hung onto the reins I wouldn't have pulled the muscle

1 fractured ankle from being bucked off in canter and connecting with the arena fencing. Just thought it felt a bit sore and got back on and finished the lesson. ;)

Easter this year I came off while jumping and ended up between the horses front legs. Injuries were a ruptured hamstring, swelling and bruising to elbow, swollen hand, sore ribs (suspected cracked but hospital never x-rayed them) that meant I had to sleep on the couch for about a month as I couldn't lie down. The bruising from the hamstring went from top of leg to below the knee and had such wonderful colours :p Waiting a scan on the hamstring to see how its healing or if its permanently damaged.

Compared to other people here I'm done quite minor injuries:

Being chucked off into gravel on a hack, with short sleeves on!
Pulled a muscle in my back while doing a despooking workshop - pony behind me freaked at clapping and blotting so my pony went too!
Badly bruised coccynx due to being bucked off

And various bruises!
