Couple of cracked ribs.
Very bedly pulled ligamets in my left shoulder
Various minor cuts and scrapes.
I got bitten in between my left boob and my armpit which bruised badly, swelled slightly so I looked odd! and 8months down theline it's still soreto touch. (it was agony when it hapened, any movement there bought tears to my eyes.....I jumped my first newcomers 3 days after it happened, I have never felt pain like it!

)
I've been kicked a year ago on the side of my left hand and it still hurts when i bend the little finger occasionally.

I think I've been very lucky that I've not done anything serious!

1. 2 broken fingers (got stuck in a lunge line when horse took off)
2. broken leg (fell off when my old pony went a bit nutso) which has also slightly damaged my back and i get a lot of back pain now, that fall also damaged my knees
3. 1 broken toe from poppy jumping on it
4. 3 broken toes in one go when i was tryin to be helpful and gave a friend a leggy onto her horse

He's now had a broken finger & broken ribs

I bent my arm- Broken in 4 places, and almpst everything that can be torn was. Took just under 12 hours of operating to save it. Can't say it is 'normal' but it works for riding and driving (if you forget the pain

I had severe bruising and muscle damage to my left leg and knee but it could of been much worse

Oh and concussion after falling off of D the only time I ever took him XC schooling. I drove my friend and instructor completely mad by asking the same question over and over again

I still can't remember it

Personally, I've done nothing more than soft tissue damage - which is amazing considering I've worked full time with horses most of my adult life!
Sprained intercostular muscles (ribs), torn ligaments (from a shetland!), torn muscles and more bruises than I can count. Oh and a foal reared up and landed on my head once! That really hurt!

But the worst I have seen was when my co worker got 'run over' by a galloping horse (was running into blinding sun trying to catch up with a galloping herd) She didn't see it coming either as she was watching the herd.
It was like watching a car accident, it hit her with a huge force, she got tangled under the front legs, then the horse got a foot down and managed to jump over her. But not before smashing her jaw and collar bone. By the time I got to her, she was unconscious and blood coming out of her mouth. Seriously scary!
She was hospitalised for weeks with her jaw plated and wired together, and liquid diet for months!
She has no memory of it at all, in fact she lost the entire day!

Thought I had posted a reply, may have got lost in the ether, so I`ll try again! Sorry if it appears twice!

Two broken toes, done at different times, a fractured and dislocated finger, concussion, and a damaged kidney with internal bleeding.

Been riding since the age of 3. An 34 now. Fallen off loads. Never broken a thing until 2 yrs ago when I broke my back VERY badly and had a spinal fusion and bone graft off my hip.
Didn't see that one coming...........never thought it would happen to me......

oh my god, some terrible injuries, dare i say it but **touches wood** i haven't had any injuries in the 19 years i've had horses, think the worst is being winded! I've been very very lucky! so far!! Lol

broken foot, concussion twice with one hospital stay as a kid, cracked rib, broken metacarpal from where evil pony tried to squeeze out of gate and it pinged back onto my hand. I've been trodden on once and landed on once and when i was a kid i was bitten on my stomach and my ear!!

Well my medical file at the doctors is as thick as an enciclopedia
blush.gif

Numerous falls when young with lots of scrabes & bumps.
Bitten twice once on shoulder 2nd time on spine (from same horse)
When 12 pony bolten with me onto a tarmac road. He flipped up I went out the side my skull cap (with harness fastened) came off before I landed straigh on my cheek fracturing it & knocking me out for 15min, before I came round & rode home again.
Kicked in thigh, trodden on numerous times.
Had a horse chase me in a field a slipped over & it slid down my thigh with it's back leg.
New horse double barreled me in chest breaking 3 ribs & permently dinted the ribs on that side.
Cracked my sternum when a horse dropped me on top of a fence post instead of jumping the hunt jump also lost a pint of blood in my arm from same incident.
Then I did similar to Ravenwoods daughter last legal days hunting jumped a 5'10" wall horse pecked on landing went to his knees I went out the front door crashing into the ground ruptured my cla joint in R shoulder & broke 4 ribs then as horse picked up he smacked me in face with is hoof splitting my fave just above top lip cue lots of blood but very luckily all teeth left in place. Got back on carried hunting for 3 hrs he later fell through I wire fence instead of jumping hunt jump & rolled over on me which sadly was filmed & shown on national TV!
blush.gif
Then a grand national jockey who hepled me on later tell me that we are mental us hunters!
Had a horse roll over with me twice, once he went galloping along there was a tractor rut full of water instead of him jumping over he put his front legs in & the rut must of been 3' deep he tried his best to recover sliding along on his front knees for 10 meters before loosing & ended up sliding on our sides befor he rolled over cue more broken ribs!
Nearly sliced my thumb off with a very blunt gate latch!
Yes I should not be allowed horses! But as the song says
I get knocked down but I get back up again! & usually get back on again as well!

Broken toe from being jumped on by someone else's ignorant heavy bay cob
Broken cheekbone from being hit by someone else's headshy pony - stupid owner raised her fist to him poor lad so not really his fault
crazy.gif

badly broken wrist 4 years ago, which needed 2 operation to put on an external fixator (looks like scaffolding) that didn't work so had to have a "K wire" fitted. that looked like a meat hook had been stuck through my wrist! argh...

I think recovery from injuries is worst that the actual thing.

and of course..... the older you get the harder you fall.

not that much really!

bad concussion as a kid, lost a whole day
same happened again as an adult - hats on both times
fell off jumping and landed backwards on the poles/jumpwings, broken ribs and cracked pelvis
fell face first when jumping a tiny fence - broken nose, and dislocated/broken finger.
sore leg today when George trod on it after bucking me off!
