just wondering what is an nice size school for show jumping practise at home, we are looking to move livery's for better facility's and I'm not sure as to what is a nice size menage? I've seen some people ride in photos / videos is MASSIVE arenas, but I never seem to find any - jealous haha! Seen a yard with an outdoor school 60 x 40, is this big? Sorry lol!

yes 20 x 40 is one of the smaller arenas big enough for most purposes, will cope with two or three horses working independantly.
60 by 40 is medium, the size of some of the larger indoor places,
80 x 40 is huge

I find jumping in a 40x20 quite tight, so anything 40x25 and bigger I would look for.
It's amazing the difference an extra 5m can make!
Have ridden (flat and jump) in a 100 x 40 before. Phenomenal!

I had the choice of 60x20 or 40x30 as I was doing a lot of jumping in those days and had just started horses so I went for 40x30 as I wanted to be able to do bigger circles and have wider turns for jumping young ones
In truth 60x30 would have been perfect and I should have blow the budget and built that .
