What is a hunting certificate?

Was just browsing through ads today and saw one for an ISH which said it had a hunting certificate.
Anyone care to enlighten me?

Not sure, but is that what Point 2 Pointers get when they have done the required number of hunts, to qualify to race.

To be eligible to P2P, horses must have hunted for 4 days in a season, and once they have done this they get issued with a hunting certificate from the hunt (though there are some naughty people out there who bend that rule a little

)

What like turning up at the meet and then sneaking off, or promising the hunt sec they will do the last two but could cert be issued so registration done in time for 1st race and then not going................that sort of thing??!!!

That's all very well, but ISHs aren't allowed to point-to-point, apart from the odd hunt members race with a heavyweights section.
