Not v clued up on rugs! and would be handy to know for the future.... i was having a quick look at rugs on the internet and came across a nice one for £34.99 that was advertised as a MW rug but was only 180g? i thought this would be a LW? or does it differ depending on which make it is?

i would say that 180 is on the light side of a MW, a mw would usually be about 180-250g, with hw being 300g plus, and LW being up to 150g ish.
depends very much on the manufacturer tho. fal and horseware tend to run toward the top end of those weights, with masta and weatherbeeta toward th lower end.
