I have a 10 (nearly 11) lab x collie who still thinks shes still 2. She comes down the yard with me and doesnt stop, then at home she's shattered and gets stiff and limps :(.

I've put her on Seraquin now, i was just wondering if there was anything else or is seraquin the best?

Any views would be helpful.

Thanks

Best to look at ingredients as Seraquin is Glucosamine , Chondroitin plus tumeric.
Youmove & a pinch of tumaric would provide the same for around 30p a day.

Jack has Glucosamine, I just get the tubs from whereever is cheapest (normally our local wholesaller) and it works out 6.6p per day (one tablet twice a day). I've stopped very long walks but he does up to 5 miles with no problems or stif

Glucosamine needs chondroitin to be activated, hence why seraquin has both.

Raw chicken wings will also provide a good supplement.

Green lipped mussel is good, IME as is turmeric.

I was going to say green-lipped mussel supplement as well. Supposed to be fab - you can get them from the likes of Holland & Barratt I believe.

Lintbells Yumove is recommended but not sold by my vet! Also another vote for green-lipped mussel extract in the yumove also in Flexi-chew plus. Available on line much cheaper than vets.

I put my dog on yumove after seeing posts on here about it. I have a 12 year old collie who still thinks he is about 2. He has started to get quite stiff after a long walk, and would yelp when he got up after a long sleep etc.

He has been on yumove since August and his stiffness has decreased noticeably. I also think his gait is a little bit springier! Think Yumove has glucosamine, chondriotin and green lipped muscle.

Pistolpete, I work in a vets and we can get it! I would have thought most vets would be able to get it in, but it's cheaper online anyway :)
