Please say it's the same as micronised linseed!! Just bought a 25kg sack for £17 in my local feed shop who's just started selling it, as opposed to the Charnwood milling stuff which is about £25. Asked the feed shop man if it is the same as micro-linseed and he said 'pretty much'. It looks exactly the same as the stuff I'm feeding!

I buy "cooked linseed meal" from my wholesalers. It is supplied by Micronised Feed Producers (MFP) so I don't doubt it is micronized. It is a straight Bonkers2 so no ingredients/composition label

Google says that 'Micronising is a process used to "cook" cereal grains. To cook grains via micronising, grains are moistened with steam before being passed under a series of infra-red heat lamps. This infra-red heat effectively acts like a microwave, causing the particles within the grains to vibrate and generate internal heat. Once the grains reach the desired temperature for a certain period of time they are removed from the infra-red heat sources before being rolled and then cooled and dried.' Cooking the linseed makes it more digestible, so I would say that even if your linseed is cooked in a different way from micronising, it should be fine to feed.

Thank you everyone for replies, indeed as JillA says there's no label just a sticker on saying 'cooked linseed meal'. Pleased I've grabbed myself a bargain!!
