that depends on what you intend to show her as? lightweight hunter, riding horse or sport horse? she should be plaited, trimmed, pulled tail, a saddle that shows off her shoulder so fairly straight cut but not dressage, put quarter marks on her such as sharks teeth, but not from a marker card. if you do hunters or sport horse then plain tack + if you do riding horse then a flashy, bling browband!! lol

Trimmed, plaited and pulled, she'd look superb in a riding horse class.

I assumed she'd have to be plaited (damn I wish I had a M&M

She has ickle feathers , I'm guessing they have to go
tongue.gif

Oh ok .. so coloured classes would just be plaited , trimmed and plain tack ? More importantly what would the rider have to wear ?
Remembering its only a local unaff (as the horse is the worst show horse you could meet

)

I would say plain tack, no bling browbands. Tweed jacket, pale shirt and coloured tie. Beige jods. Plaited mane and pulled tail. Trimmed beard/legs

We show our coloured (in my sig) in the coloured class. Plain brown hunter bridle, no bling. Only in hand at the mo but we do have a dressage saddle and did'nt know you could use that. Plaited up, feather taken off if any. Dauther wears green tweed jacket, blue hat, tan gloves, and brown show cane. Canary jods of riding but as she shows in hand and horse has white legs she wears navy pants. Would love some bling as I someone said you can use bling in riding horse class might just do that. Ours is a sports horse. We were told no quarter markings by a judge in our coloured class as there is already enough "going on" with the colours of the horse. So not sure on that one.

yes, plain tack for coloured, you should wear a tweed jacket, tie + shirt. your jodhpurs can be canary or beige with long leather riding boots, show cane + gloves + you should wear spurs but if your horse doesnt like them you can wear dummies.

she'll be ACE cos she's beautiful!

I'm hoping the judges feel the same......

Plan B is to bribe them ..seeing as she has crap confo and is wearing eggbars (which I understand are a big no-no

)

Thankyou Mandy and TeddyT .. as I say its only very local unaff and I think I'll just risk showing her inhand but I thought I should make the effort and try and distract from her bad points
tongue.gif

Fantastic thankyou ! I wasn't sure if it should be tweed or navy?
Is there any reason it is correct to turnout in tweed?

Ours has a turned out foot. And still wins. If you get all the other points "right" you must score points there and this will detract from any bad ones. Not that yours has any of course. Just make sure you really "show" her. Make sure she is stook right, pick up bits of grass to make her prick her ears, keep your eyes on the judge at all times and really work her when she is stood in any line up. Works every time.

She's a big show off that magically turns into a floaty dressage horse in company (in hand) so thats ok

Shall work on my presentation skills they need err ... refining
