What is Cushion Ride like to ride on?

I know several people who have it & are very happy. It is well maintained & they use it for schooling & jumping quite happily.
I rode on it at an old livery yard. I don't know if it just couldn't cope with the traffic on it or it wasn't maintained properly but it was a bloody nightmare! Slippery as hell & no way would I have used it for jumping :(
I've discounted it from my arena from that one experience

I had it and it was not good, I had lots of issues with slipping on it so could not jump or lunge on it.

It was used by 4-5 horses a day and regularly maintained, it just didn't work for me.

It's not good for jumping as it shifts about. It's cheaper because it needs topping up more than other surfaces, so over a few years you'll end up paying as much for it as a sand and rubber/fibre surface. Cushionride will need regular rolling.

I has cushionride as an emergency measure before I could afford a 'proper' manege. The original cushionride is now around my gateways and is a soggy mess!

Well it is at a livery yard I am thinking of moving to. It looks well maintained, and they say that it is harrowed weekly, but I am just a bit concerned that it will be too slippy to ride in when it is wet.

It is a busy livery yard, so surely if it was that bad then they would have no customers lol??

It's at my livery yard too. It has been fine (in its day) but I don't think it's deep enough (despite being topped up recently and does tend to get boggy quickly.

It's not my preferred surface but beggars can't be choosers.
