Light work. Medium work would be local competitions and daily work as schooling, lessons or hacking.
Hard work would be eventing beyond pre-novice, daily schooling with x-country included and more schooling/lessons/competitions replacing any hacking slots!
i would say thats light work,my horses i would say are in light to medium work and they hack 1-2 hours per day every day.
i would say med work is daily hacking plus schooling and maybe some lessons and some competions per week.hard work in my opinion is working hard everyday and say hunting 2-3 days per week
maintenance to light work to me is an hours hacking(walk, trot and bit of canter) up to 7days a week and a few schooling sessions.
to me its not really about the hours of work a horse does more how hard its worked.
my older mare hacks out 3-6 times a week for an hour plus light schooling for 30mins 2-3times a week.(she usually ends up with 2-3 days off.i would count that as light work.
the baby gets ridden out hacking one day for an hour, schooled the next day for 45mins and lunged the next day for 20mins.she usually gets 1-2days off a week.once ready she will go to competition every 2 weeks or so.i would count that as light to medium work.
