What is he ?!? ( pics !!)

Life's too short to get wound up by someone else's thread and then start taking the p*ss out of them. It does seem many people come on here purely to rip others apart and make out how wonderfully clever and knowledgeable they are.

I certainly don't, I can't actually remember the last time I had a disagreement with someone on here. I try to make posts that add to discussions and might help people out if they have a query and that others will do the same for me (which they always have).

So H&H forum at it very best yet again? Boy there are some really first class bitches trawling around this forum looking for a chance to belittle and upset someone, anyone in fact. And if they can practice their third rate bitchy humour amongst themselves they are happiest of all. Jeeesh - some people really need to get a life and get over themselves.

OP I couldn't even guess at your lovely horse's breeding, but he is a nice sort from the pictures. Very often those of unknown breeding are the very best in every way, temperament and capabilities. And they are very often good steady sellers long after the market for the more fancy bred types have nose dived. I wish you many years of pleasure and happiness with him.

Thank you very much . Really upsetting for people to behave like this !

Doesn't really show horsey people in a good light to be honest it just conforms to the stereotypical 'bitchy horse people' that others perceive us to be.

Don't think anyone's really taking the mickey out of the OP (other than a few flippant comments). I'm personally taking the mickey out of cobs and cob owners, because the irony amuses me. It's not bitchy for people to find the repeat postings frustrating, either. All anyone is saying is that it doesn't matter two hoots what breed the horse is, if he does the job the OP wants.

Oh I think there are plenty of things for people to pick on in those photos had they wanted to be bitchy, but no-one has done so.

OP it does get a little tedious to see the same photos time after time after time. He's a photogenic lad, regardless of what breed he might be, haven't you got any new pictures?

Lovely pictures, OP. I'd go with a healthy dose of traditional cob, along with ID and a bit of WB somewhere. But it's a guess, as photo's are so one dimensional, you need to see the movement.

Whatever, his orgins, he's a cracking little horse who's honest and fun. You're very lucky.

I actually know a foal bred that way for sale in Perth. Same colour as well. I couldn't fathom the cross personally. Maybe the Clyde makes them saner.

You want to swap for Piper then?
Piper's been sold to THE nicest home ever in Sheffield where they're already out having fun with him. You'll have a hard job prising him off them, even with a pretty dun pinto as bait!

I want him as a friend for Roo. Plus Clyde x are usually nice natured. And he's a pretty colour and I'm a sucker for a big white face :o

Well that one up here is cheap I think ;)

Gutted you've sold my cob tho :(

I think it is a good job that he is a standard Heinz 57 because OP had done far too much with this horse for his age, so at least with that breeding he might stand a bit of a chance to last a few more years before he blows a tendon or something

Point me at it. Devon's really a bit foreign for me. ( JDFT: She's a he).

Sorry, he's gone., Pips had a long queue and, like many good horses, was never even advertised. And the home is amazing. I'm trying to get them to adopt me too.

Wow - really?! And who are you to judge?

OP FWIW - you have a nice horse. Who cares what his breeding is. He's obviously well loved by you and that's what counts.

Wonder what "too much" means?

We have a 29 yo Tb who would have been started at 2/18 mths. We took him on (sound) at 19 and he was ridden for a few years on the odd occasion (we didn't get him as a riding horse). My own horse was 4 when I got him, already had BSJA winnings and I jumped him regularly, hacked him most days and did XC/ODEs etc. He is 22 now and still going strong, competing and still hacking 4 to 5 times a week! I don't see why breed makes any difference regards what workloads they have.

Thank you those who have stuck up for me . Considering my horse is 5 and he is jumped once a month at a comp ( if that ! ) of a small 2ft6 maximum I do not feel I am over working him . I school him once a week and every few weeks do some small grids .
The rest of the time we hack in the lovely countryside !

( JDFT: She's a he).

I skim read the ad and saw the words "soppy sweetheart" and presumed nobody would write that about a colt... Gender stereotyping, much?!

I clearly didn't look very carefully at the pics!

I don't know whether to point out that the OP has a thread currently in CR where the horse is out jumping 90cm xc, or that the jump in the photo isn't a small 2'6... Would that be bitchy, or just observant?

I actually find this thread incredibly saddening to read. OP is simply asking for opinions on her beloved horse, who she clearly takes a lot of pride in. What harm is she doing? For those saying it's 'attention seeking', that's just ridiculous. I can think of a specific 'popular' poster who recently displayed clear and blatent attention seeking and yet when someone pulled her up on it, they got shot down in flames. :-( And those threads were whiney moaney threads, not simply asking opinions on her horse.

I don't know my mare's breeding. However, I have had numerous comments from different people saying they are convinced she is CB x. I love my mare to pieces, and have posted pics on various sites asking opinions, purely because I love her, take a lot of pride in her, and would be extremely interested to know what peoples' thoughts are.

Has it occurred to any of you that maybe, just MAYBE OP decided to repost because she thought it may attract more opinions/posts a second time around?

It's really not harming anyone is it? And if for some unbeknown reason people get offended by it, simply leave the thread and don't bother responding. Funnily enough, that's what most normal people do when they aren't interested in a thread.

I really hope OP isn't too upset by all of this, after all, it's lovely to see someone who clearly takes a lot of interest in her horse.

OP your horse is lovely, ignore the people on here who clearly haven't got anything better to do with their time of late. :-)

Quite agree with this. Can't quite understand why some regular posters have taken such offence at the OP daring to ask again! And then going on and on about it.

OP he is probably a mixture of cob, ID, TB. A good typical irish hunter/cob type.

Totally agree on this

Maybe, they're all along a similar theme though, we don't know, he's a nice coloured from ireland with everything that they like to add in :D
