what is it with my yard

ok i was out last night so my dad went down to check on skye (shes living out 24/7 with three or four other mares)

he went down about 7.15 (the yard locks the gates at 7.30) and checked skye who was fine and had 2 other mares out in the field with her

i went down tonight and was told that all the mares were staying in tonight as it was too wet and soggy for them to lie down! i mean WTF!! they are horses for god sakes and they are on a sloping field so the water drains to the bottom! grr!!

anyway then my friend turns to me and says oh yeah skye was out on her own last night! apparently the other two mares were brought in apart from skye (even though there is meant to be a rule about not leaving a horse on its own

) so skye was out on her own all night but the thing is all of the mares owners have my number so they could have easily rung me and told me skye was on her own or even gone and told the YO!!

the thing is though is that my dad left the yard at 7.20pm so the two mares must have been bought in after that! but also this is about the 2nd/3rd time skye has been left out on her own all night and it is really doing my head in

oh yes then as i was leaving the yard today the YO stopped me and told me to make sure skye wasnt left on her own again!! grrrrrrrrrr well if he knew why the hell didnt he ring me last night and tell me!!

I know what you mean, I am always the last to know what is hapenning around our yard too!! You will have to delay your dads visit to the last min to see what is happening. Would pi** me off too, tbh.

lol but thats the thing i asked them last time to ring me!
 
It's no good getting annoyed....your other owners and your YO are just 'special', very, very 'special'.
Luckily, your horse seems to have more sense, if she spent the night out alone without kicking up a fuss.
Perhaps you should be giving HER a mobile phone?

Leave a big sign on your horses gate saying "if taking your horses in, please call this number so ...... is not left on own"! Failing that, is there nobody else on the yard you could trust to call you or take your horse in for you if it happened again?

Id tell the YO that THEY broke the rules and you're not happy!
 
i dont blame ou for feeling angry, the others are not being very condsiderate, they could of just rang or txtd you at least you would of been aware she was on her own
 
i'd be furious if someone left mine out on her own all night. i'd have a fairly blunt word with your YO and see what happens. failing that, go and have a rant at the other owners again.
