What is it...?

It's a long leather piece looks a bit like a noseband but without the bit that goes around the head, (so just the bit to go around nose)it has a buckle one end and holes the other, similar to a flash strap.... Raised slightly, flat underside, But it has stitched design and doesn't seem Symmetrical... Any ideas what this is? Or am I just being completely thick and its some kind of fancy flash??

It could be a noseband from an in-hand bridle? A single strip of leather (without a headpiece), it loops through the cheekpieces just above the bit fastenings. Could it be one of these?

I've seen some driving bridles with nosebands that thread through too. Can you post a pic?
