As title says. Some people refer to training shows in horse adverts what do they mean? I never see training shows advertised. Or are they local shows and clinics used as a training outing for the youngster?

We have a centre who runs training shows for sj. Basically like a CR and the heights go up through the evening. You enter online as you would with a normal show. They are quite common in Europe - provides the opportunity to jump young horse with nothing going on their records.

Some venues run non competitive classes set up like you would a comp to give exposure to young horses. Or it could mean the horse has been run non-competitively at a regular shoe

Two equine centres near me both run training shows. One runs them as a clear round throughout the year when they have UA dressage on. The other one had them at the start of the year and ran them as a normal competition but with an optional extra last fence with a water tray under it.

My friend runs training shows so you have a lesson in the morning then do a dressage test in the afternoon, it's very relaxed no pressure and it's all about helping you and your horse.

We have a couple locally at the bigger venues. Just a clear round but at affiliated heights from what I can understand! Starting at 80/85
