Before competing at Kimpton a couple of weeks ago, I was thoroughly convinced that my Horse was a Cob however, after he was imppeccably behaved and performed a beautiful individual show, we were still pulled in last! She then went onto tell me that my Horse was infact, not a cob at all and should be a Show Hunter.

He is a 15hh Dark Bay, hogged and without feather who is upto weight but very fit. Would he fall in to the category of a Small or Show Hunter? I never thought he'd be big enough!

Will try to attach some photographs IMG]http://i847.photobucket.com/albums/ab35/DottyConnection/Billy/keysoexc3.jpg[/IMG]

I would say a very nice smart cob. However he looks very fit and many show cobs are presented in "show condition" ie carrying much more weight (sometimes obese - don't shoot me down showing fans!) so judge may have been confused! ;)

I was going to make the same comment as above, he's a cob to me, but because he's fit he's not in 'show' condition!!!

But lovely to see them in such good nic. Well done.

I know what he is, I know exactly what he is...........

He's gorgeous and lovely and i want to have him please?!!

He's that perfect horse shape, kind of light weight cob- Really stunning!

I think he is a lightweight cob, and the pictures show that he is quite a nice one! Maybe a small hunter but he is verging on too chunky for that. Not to hijack the post, but my horse is inbetween riding horse or hunter.
When I first bought him the vet who vetted him said he wasa cob on the report, he is 17hh 3/4 TB, 1/4 WB. Clueless vet obvs!!

He is a cob, and he is a hunter type, but doesn't look "classic" enough in either catagory to win in the show ring really... He looks a fantastic jumper - so do working hunter or SJ/XC/ODE. Looks far too talented to just be judged on looks anyway - if you know what I mean! (Sorry showing people!!)

Hi, he definatly looks like a cob but a working cob rather than as the others have said a show cob, i dont actually like the weight they expect cobs to be at shows its not healthy!! But they do do working hunter cobs now at many shows (much the same as working hunter horse class) but just for cobs. They do not expect them to be obese but in a fot conditon. He is lovely though. :)
