What is the best 'after exercise' winter rug?

What do you find is the best rug to use on your horse after you have exercised it during the winter?

Thermatex or any of the Thermatex style rugs to dry them off if required. If they are dry I tend to put their turnouts back on.

waffles are great for milder weather and for warm-but-not-sweaty ponies in cold weather but for most working horses this time of year and on through the winter thermatex are better.

If you bed on straw then thatch their backs with straw under the cooler you have. Otherwise experiment with two waffles one on top of the other, my Welshie liked that and the double layer still let the moisture through so she dried off (we have two acrylic waffles rather than cotton which don't seem to get as damp if that makes sense.)

I got one from Derby House in the summer for only £20 - exactly the same as a thermatex (I have two thermatex and the DH one is just as good).
