One of our liveries wees for england and every morning we are taking the whole bed out , he is on shavings at the moment , we are happy to go and buy in any other type of bedding but what would be best ? Thanks
Pur very disgusting mare is on rubber mats with enough shavings to soak the wee up, then taken out every day......Bio wood pellets are brilliant too, and cheap.
Agree the fields sounds the best option or tying a knot in it !!! But he is a lovely old horse and we love him too much for that. We have tried pellets they were ok but seemed to use alot of them. Has anyone tried green mile cardboard ?
Wood pellets with a nice, deep bed (13 bag start up).
Remove poo
Remove wee hockey pucks from the middle
Get aggressive with the dry sides with a fork to fluff it back up
Flick the dry sides into the damper middle and mix it up
Rake bed back down
Whole job = 7 minutes a bed.
Fluffing the dry areas is the key to bed longevity (took me a year to figure this out!). That way you reactivate the bed and get much more use from it.
I don't wet the pellets either, just check em down and mix em in.
